Hi! I know both are very different restaurants, as far as food. I know one has princesses and one has great food and location. Kids are not picky eaters.
We are doing Biergarten earlier in the week.
Dinner is at 6:30. 2 adults, 2 girls aged 8 and 10. How is the food at Akershus?
I have to choose one or the other...which would you choose?

Akershus is actually pretty good for a buffet we thought. Like most character meals you pay a premium for that experience. With that age of girls you could get some fun interactions and photos.

Rose and Crown is probably better food but we haven't had the best service experiences there.

Plus they are on opposite ends of world showcase so it may make a difference with what ever else you're planning.

I'd do the princess meal for the experience.

For me dinner comes down to one and only one thing: FOOD!!!! And Rose and Crown is leaps above Akershsus quality and taste wise and even better leaps below when it comes to price :-)

The beverage selection at the R&C isn't half bad either ;)

If you aren't doing another Princesses meal, with two girls, I'd go with Akershus. The buffet isn't half bad and service is quite good. The character interaction was also great.

Also, you will get done around 7:30-8:00, and because people start staking out Illuminations spots about then, you might be able to do standby on Frozen without a huge wait.

Akershus has a cold buffet with meats, fish, fruits and some salads and you get to order your main entree, the dessert is family style, they bring plates of three different desserts out.

So, it is sort of a buffet and sort of a regular table service, lol.

I would do Akershus. R&C has good food, but I enjoy the food and atmosphere of Akershus more.

I'm leaning toward Akershus while my girls are still young enough to appreciate the princesses. Just want to make sure the food is decent, at the least.

Thanks to all who took the time to reply - your input is truly appreciated!

well after shuffling things around I could not do bog dinner on my birthday (mk closes at 430 not 6 this time for the cast member party.) so ill be doing dinner here.

As noted, dinner at Akershus is a cold appetizer buffet with meats, cheeses, fish, salads bread etc. You order your entree off the menu and it is served to you. Dessert is a sampler platter for the table.
We enjoyed our dinner last Fall.
