lunch . . . 10/04/2015 Adult: $48.98, Child: $29.81
lunch . . . 03/01/2016 Adult: $57.51, Child: $34.08

This seems like a very big jump! Since lunch and dinner are now same price, will the menu change?

Probably not.

I think a lot of these increases are profit grabs for OOP dining, and justifications for "oh, DDP is worth it!" for the rest. With DDP being $62/adult/night, you need to blow your snack on a Starbucks and get some nachos for QS and you're "ahead." Both meals at Akershus for a child cost more than DDP does for a day for said child.

Seems to be a pattern, this isn't the only post about rising costs in the restaurants.

Last post my first thought was this will be a great incentive for folks to buy the DDP and stay on property (their true plan?) .... and the DDP will probably jump soon too.

Looks like this will now be my favorite lunch!

I just changed my lunch ADR to breakfast ADR this morning because of the price. I wanted to see the princesses but $20 difference was too much

The price is part of the reason why I will never do a Character meal unless I was on DDP. It's not a good buy for a Single person, so I would rather pay out of pocket and choose quieter places to eat.

Don't they set the price for the whole year in the program? I have not heard of a mid-year increase.

I don't know but honestly they can do whatever they want. They've been raising all kinds of prices whenever. I pulled up the 2016 DDP brochure and it no prices committed and each page says the locations it is accepted are subject to change without liability. As with most Disney paperwork am sure it says somewhere "subject to change."

Not saying they will, just that I wouldn't be surprised and it be in line with all else lately.

Oh I think *for sure* the price of the 2017 dining plan will be much higher. I was just about to say I'd be surprised if they jacked the price before then but...no...I guess it wouldn't surprise me at this point.

If you walked through HS on a busy day & held an auction for this lunch, you'd rake it in... and I'd bid.

I'm just going to stuff my purse with Lunchables and sell 'em for $2 each.

They way they market it though is for the year and I'm not sure I have heard of them raising it mid-year once they have published prices. Yes they do leave themselves the ability to make changes but since they release program info and pricing once a year and it is valid until the end of the year, I'd be surprised if they raised prices right now. Disney seems to prefer the frog in the boiling water approach, doing things a little at a time so you don't realize you're boiling. So I would expect restaurant prices to go up bit by bit here and there over the next year and then DDP will be priced to reflect that for 2017.

This is our standard Disney packed lunch. Good torte rolls (don't get soggy) for good sandwich we put in long flat plasticware (that is the lid). Tube of Pringles, they don't get crushed. If we are out of our bottled water we will buy bottles of coke.

LOTS of good places to sit and eat. This was at Tomorrowland Terrace (while closed) next to a plug charging our phones. Quiet, relaxing, out of the sun.

Freezing bottles of water and putting in a plastic bag (to catch condensation) in backpack by plasticware keeps sandwiches cool, and slowly melts for a nice cool drink.

I would rather do this for lunch and spend my money on a better dinner than eat at most QS, and with the new prices hitting I think this will be more often than not.
