Akershus for Frozen?

I'm considering booking an Akerchus breakfast with the intention of being able to ride Frozen. But I'm geeking in times. So that part of Epcot opens at 11, I know future world opens at 9. We've done Akershus before park open before and had great picture opportunities in a near empty park. Thoughts on if a breakfast there makes sense for touring and riding Frozen with no lines.

Frozen ride opens at 9AM for all guests.

Guests cannot go farther than Norway until about 11AM.
But, guests can walk past a closed Mexico on the east side of World Showcase, and they can walk past a closed Canada, UK and France on the west side of World Showcase.

You're awesome

We do Akershus for the meal - not for some other reason.
As @Robo stated, Norway and the new attractions open at 9 AM. There are lines waiting pre rope drop just ot head there ASAP. A regular breakfast time will put you behind everyone else. Your best bet is to line up pre opening and wait in line. The line first thing isn't too bad, but builds quickly

I just did this last Wednesday. We had an 8am Akershus ADR. We arrived at the park early and were taken back to our photo with Belle right at 8, then we were seated immediately. After that we ordered our drinks and I asked to pay in advance. Our food came quickly and we were done eating and waiting for the princesses by 8:30. They did not come out until 8:35 but fortunately we were near the beginning of their route. We saw all four in about 10 minutes. Since we had already paid we left right after meeting the final princess. At this time we saw that there was a mass of rope droppers heading to the ride (clearly let in the park early). We were able to beat out most of them and be near the front of the ride. Once we walked through the queue we only had to wait on 1 or 2 boats before we boarded. The line was still fairly short when we got out but rather than ride again we got in line for Anna and Elsa M&G. I happened to check my phone while waiting in line and it wasn't even 9 yet, so we had finished all of that before the park officially opened.

We did Akershus PPO yesterday and didn't make it out before the park opened, even though we arrived at 8. It took ages to seat us.

We ended up behind the RD crowd.

I think we would have been better off skipping the meal. It really wasn't that great, to be honest. I'm glad we experienced it once, but if we ever go back, we'll definitely skip it.

We did it in December - had an 8:05 or so ADR, arrived about 7:55, were seated quickly and paid pretty soon after being seated (have a TiW card so wanted to be sure that got sorted out). We had time to go up to the buffet, order drinks, get our food, get seconds on the cheesy potatoes (LOL), saw all princesses and around 8:40 they did the princess parade. We were out by 8:47 and it was exactly as they opened the doors to FEA and we walked right on! As we got off, the building was already filled with people waiting. It was perfect!

I plan to do it again in June. :)

As you can tell from other comments it is definitely possible, but if you do choose to do this just know that you run the risk of not getting out of breakfast before the RD people come swarming in. Its a risk you'll have to weigh! Also, Akershus is one of my personal favorite dining/character experiences, and I personally would not want to feel as if I was rushing through it. However it all comes down to your family's vacation style! If you want to lay back and relax and enjoy your dining this may not be worth it for you, especially if you don't beat the crowds, but if you are more of a go-getter ride family then this might be way worth it!

It's possible but keep in mind that more times than not, they open the park ahead of scheduled time. It's not uncommon for Epcot to start letting people in at 8:40 or 8:45 instead of 9

Thanks everyone. I looked closer and of course the day we booked is early entry to boot. So we may cancel the meal, but maybe not. We are definitely gonna fp once but we want to see the queue.

I'd not worry much about that.
There is only one (very, very minor) thing that standby guests see (for a brief moment) that FP guests don't.
Otherwise, the queue space is actually "shared" by FP & standby.

I agree with PP that Akershus is a wonderful experience in itself. Perhaps if you are there for RD you could relax over breakfast after your ride.

Is the ride close enough that you can leave around 8:40 ride the ride and then come back. My mom won't be riding so she will stay at the table and I figure we would be back in about 15 minutes. Honestly that is how long it takes us to go to the bathroom and back at any resturant.

Their right next door to each other.

But there's no guarantee that the ride will be open at 8:40 to ride. It might not open until 9am and you have to get in line. And sometimes it's not ready to open up even at 9, not the norm but it can happen.

Thank you, yes I would assume that is cast members were not letting guests on by 8:45 we would just abandon that plan and return to our meal.

Realize, something has changed since all these old reports. They now issue FP at 9:00 AM for FEA. At the time of all these old reports, it was only stand by until 11:00. Stand by lines move very differently when there are FP users returning too.
