We are looking at visiting WDW during the Food & Wine Festival. We would like to try Akershus the night we get there (Sat.) will it be completely crazy trying to get to the restaurant? Not sure where we are staying yet (trying to decide between BC or BWI). We are not visiting for F&W Festival, it just happens to fall at that time. Is World Showcase jam packed every night during the festival? :(

It does tend to be pretty busy, but if you go during the week, it will not be as crazy as on a Friday or Saturday night.

You may have more trouble getting into BC or BWI, as they are EPCOT-adjacent and very popular for folks who are going to F&W.

World Showcase is very congested and busy on Friday and Saturday nights during the Food and Wine Festival.
If you entered Epcot using the International Gateway from either BC or BWI, you would need to walk through the UK and Canada to get to Norway for your dinner. This area is always very congested and slow. Alternately you could go the other way towards France and around that way, but on a Saturday night you are going to find it crowded.
It is doable, just expect it to be packed and slow and plan accordingly.

Friday and Saturday nights are bad and the other nights are more crowded than usual but you can manage your way through the crowds.

The best time to visit World Showcase during the festival is during the week, when they open at 11:00. Crowds don't start getting thick until the afternoon.

My advice is that if you don't like crowds, completely avoid the World Showcase on Saturdays during the festival. It may not be jam packed every day, but it is generally jam packed every Saturday.

Just back from F&W weeklong trip 10/31 to 11/7. The difference between weekdays/nt and the weekend day/nt was huge.

If you you want to stay away from the crowds choose any other day than Sat/Sun:thumbsup2
