We made a dinner ADR at Akershus, we have never eaten there before. How is the food here, hope we made a good choice. We will be celebrating our DGD 3rd b-day there this Christmas.:santa:

Hi! We took our then 2.5 yr old DDs there last Christmas and were very pleasantly surprised. It was the first CM we did and the girls were AMAZED! the princesses were wonderful and took lots of time with them. THey also give you a nice set of photos (you get them before you finish eating). FOod was good, not great, but it's the experience!

I would think your GD will love it!

We are planning to go back this Jan for dinner.

Thanks Maggie, this dinner was the only one I was having second thoughts about good to know this info. :thumbsup2

Me and my DH are visiting Akerhaus in November and we're really excited about it, the thought of meeting the Princesses and having our photos done is awesome. We really cant wait. The experience of having all the Princesses there, visiting our table, the experience im sure will be priceless.

Little girls dream!! And big girls!! :rotfl:

Hope you have an awesome time!!

We just had breakfast there and were pleased with our experience. Pictures turned out well -you get your photographs at the table before you leave. The princess parade is sweet. Little girls (and a few very young boys) walk around the restaurant with the various princesses and then are returned to their tables. Be sure to mention it's a birthday - you get a wonderful card with all the princesses' signatures and a birthday cupcake with a candle.

We went last October and my DD (5) LOVED the princess interaction, especially with Ariel. When DD told Ariel she was her favorite, Ariel spent a LOT of time with her, and even came back to the table a second time to kiss DS (2) on the forehead and hug DD again. It was truly magical.

The food was okay. Not fantastic, but above average.

took DW there for our 35th anniversary and had a great time. The food is very good and the Princess interaction was great! The CM came to our table and gave us app. times for the different princess and when it was best to wait or go to the buffet. The princesses made time for plenty of pictures.
Remember this is traditional Norweign food not the Americanized versions

We have been to the dinner twice, and enjoyed it. Its the best of both worlds, because the appetizers are buffet, and the main course is served. You get dessert served to you family style, but if you want to do something really special, contact private dining at the yhatt club, and you can have a custom cake made for her!

I don't think you'll regret your ADR. We've had two great dinners at Akershus. DD (3) LOVED this character meal. I liked that the entrees and dessert were served to the table, so we weren't up and down to the buffet for the entire meal. We saw 5 princesses on each visit... and the photo package with Belle is a nice bonus. I thought the food was better than that at other character meals. We especially liked the fish (I think mahi-mahi) over arugula and pureed potatoes, and the wild mushroom ravioli with chard. DD (10) loved the smoked trout and smoked salmon on the cold buffet, and DS (13) liked the crusty rolls. They don't advertise this, but the meal is technically all you can eat, so if you order an entree you aren't thrilled with, ask for them to bring another option. Ditto on the desserts.

In my opinion, this is a great value on the dining plan (only 1 credit, and the child's cash price is more than double the cost of the dining plan for the day). Much better deal than the Cinderella meal at the castle...and better food. I don't think I would pay cash for this meal though.. I'd rather eat at a signature dining restaurant for about the same amount.

We did it this past December and REALLY enjoyed it. I highly recommend the grilled pork chop with the au gratin potatoes.
The character interaction was really good,(Aerial called my DD4 a guppy. She is tiny BTW.), the adult food was good and the included picture just topped it off.

We've had breakfast, lunch and dinner here many times. By far my favorite meal here is lunch because I think the food is fantastic. Dinner was OK, but really, the atmosphere here is really nice. The princesses are so sweet and can take so much more time than at CRT.

Enjoy!:goodvibes

We are doing this dinner in Oct for the first time and I am so excited. My 27 year old sister love princesses, so she is going crazy waiting for this one.

I have had dinner there twice and liked it both times. Last time I had the mushroom ravioli dish and it was one of my favorite meals of the trip.

We have been for both breakfast and dinner. We didn't really like the dinner, but the breakfast was amazing. The character interaction is great here, we enjoyed our breakfast here over CRT.

We have booked Norway for lunch and Royal table for lunch. We seem to think a like.

I really enjoyed Akershus dinner when we went! I don't think you'll regret it at all.

It is a great deal, getting to meet so many princesses in one place. A huge plus. Can make eating a little hectic though.

We went last year, and really enjoyed it. Good atmosphere. The food was about average, not great, not horrible. We went for lunch last year, which has little different menu than for dinner. The dinner menu looks better to us and I'm really looking forward to this one (for dinner this year) with our kids.
