Love it or hate it?

We have reservations for breakfast, three people who have been there recently told be about their awful experience - poor table service, felt rushed, characters only at the table for pictures and then would run off.

Was it a fluke, or is it not the best place?

We were there for breakfast in January and we enjoyed it. Our ADRs were for 10:00, but we didn't get at our table until 10:45 - that was frustrating. Our DD2 fell off the chair smack onto her head :scared1: , and everyone there was very nice. The mgr came running over right away, and the princesses kept coming back to see if she would want to see them again. Mulan was absolutely wonderful. I also was so happy that Ariel was there - too bad we didn't get a full chance to enjoy her. I thought the food there was good too. BUT, we're not picky buffet eaters (I mean - it's breakfast!), and I love breakfast, so all was good.

We have had nothing but great experiences there. It's a must do for DD6, we have our ADR all booked for this trip. Great value too on the DDP for 1TS plus the photo package. It is where the photo in my signature is from. :)

We liked it so much we'll be going back in May. The food was fresh and plentiful, and I thought the "Princess time" was just right. :)

We were there on Feb. 17 and LOVED it! Everything it about was nice...except our time was at 2:30 and we weren't seated until closer to 3.
We thought the food was great! From the reviews I had read on here, I was extremely nervous! The food was very fresh, and you get good sized portions...plus cold buffet...and dessert (lunch). My DD liked her meal, but once she caught a glimpse of Jasmine, her favorite, she didn't take another bite! We thought there was plenty of time spent with each princess too...enough time for hello, hugs, autograph, a few pics...for a 4 y/o, that was enough.
Give this place a try though...really...it's not "bad" like many make it out to be.

We love breakfast at Akershus! The food has always been wonderful and the princesses have always been charming. I have never felt rushed at Akershus (I HAVE felt rushed at CRT breakfast).

I would agree with the PP's -- loved the breakfast food, even the adults on our trip thought it was one of the better meals. Princess interaction was just right, they signed autographs, played around/joked with the kids, I felt like we got plenty of attention. Yes, they have to go from table to table but I did not feel rushed like we did at CRT. Loved the experience of CRT but overall it was more rushed than Akershaus. DH actually wants to go to Akershaus again this fall!

Our previous dinner there was AWFUL AWFUL.. not just the food but the whole experience. The only saving grace was that we were right at the door where the princesses came out, but , it was also like eating in a closet, however it gave us the first visit from each of the princesses. This was good because it meant we could escape, it was bad because they were in a 'hurry up ' and get it over with mode.

The food took a long time to arrive and was cold in a minute of arriving, service was below par, taking forever to get a bill, to get a drink or a refresh.

The salad/buffet board was quite nice with fresh foods though. My DH thought his food was tolerable, mine was cold and below par, my DD 10 at the time had buttered noodles, my son had the pizza and my youngest DD did not like anything at all (but that is just her nature) . The pizza was cold, the noodles had a large amount of water sitting in the bowl (not strained) , we sent it back and got 'cold' noodles where the butter sat on top and didn't melt. We all rated this place a 'D' - and lastly checking in and waiting for your ADR time is a nightmare too..

We have heard nothing but GOOD things about the breakfast other than it may be a little late getting seated, which is 'ok' if the experience isn't awful adn the food it good. My youngest DD loved seeing all her favorites in one place which is why we are trying it again. Every review from the breakfast has been mostly positive. It is really hard to mess up breakfast.

We have done breakfast twice, it was great! Character interaction was the best and the food was very good. For a recent review click on my January thread.

We ate dinner at Akershus in January. Great character interaction. The princesses really took their time at our table. My DD (2 1/2) hugged them and talked to each of them for several minutes. No rushing at all!

We also had breakfast at CRT. They were very rushed. Stopped for a picture and off to the next table.

Have a great vacation!

We had lunch and it was great. The food was very good. The princesses didn't rush through us. This is a must do again over CRT!

We went in January and loved it. It was our second time back and we enjoyed it both times.
The characters don't stay for a long time--I think it's a fluke when people talk about characters staying there for a while or coming back repeatedly. I don't expect them too though--they have lots of other tables to get to, and it would be incredibly selfish of me to think that we deserve to see them more than anyone else. They took a picture w/ my daughter, signed her book, maybe said a couple things to her and then left. I was good w/ that.
I thought the food was good and we'll go back for a third time.

We did most of the character meals during our last trip (save on autograph time), and I plan to have Akershus on our short list when we go back - the interaction was much better than CRT, and the food was better, even - the skillet (we went for breakfast to both places) at Akershus was better, IMO, and we definitely felt unhurried and comfortable asking for seconds - at CRT we felt we were bothering our waiter when we asked for seconds on drinks.

The food IS different, but my DH and DD are fairly picky eaters - they were able to fill up on the skillet, bagel, and fruit.

We LOVED our breakfast experience! We are so excited to repeat this fall. As a PP stated, even the adults commented on how good the food was. They did have some different items, but we felt it was the most "fresh" food we ate pretty much the whole vacation.

I had read that the later in the day you make your ADR, the longer you can wait and that it is difficult to hear your name being announced. Our ADR was well before WS opening time, but it was still hard to hear when they announced our table was ready. I would recommend you make your breakfast ADR as early as is feasible for your family. I can also see how reservation times can run late, considering just how much time the princesses spend with each table.

Our DD had so much time with each princess. They stood for a zillion pictures and got right down next to her and talked so quietly that only she and the princess knew what the conversation was. All of the adults were misty-eyed; it was just so sweet.

I am sorry for anyone who has a poor character dining experience, because we were so pleasantly surprised by how much fun and how charming each was for us.

Have fun! Take lots of pictures!

Agree with Kirlinale: Our previous dinner there was AWFUL .. not just the food but the experience. We were there in September.

We'd have been willing to try the breakfast for DNiece but it's harder to get into than lunch or dinner, go figure!

We love the breakfast. The food is good and the character interaction is great. I honestly have to say it's one of my favorite meals at WDW.

We (me, dd, and MIL) ate lunch there in Oct 07 and loved it! The food was great! My only compaint was we were there 15 minutes before our reservations like we were told, our reservations were for 11:45 a.m. and we were not called to see Ariel or to be seated to eat till close to 1 p.m. Needless to say my dd (who was 4 at the time) was not happy having to wait to see the princesses and eat, can you imagine the meltdowns of all the little girls waiting. Not to mention it rained while we were waiting and we did not even have an umbrella or ponchos. We had to wait in the store across from the restaurant and I kept running over to see if they were ready for us. The manager kept coming up and apologizing to us after we were seated, and our drinks were free along with our photo with Ariel. But overall, we had a great experience after that.
