My girls love princesses! :lovestruc And I was thinking of doing both 1900 Park Fair (dinner) and Akerhaus (bkfst). But that price increase has me wondering if it's really worth it - paying close to $30 just for bkfst! (or something close to that) We will only likely be at Epcot one day and we also really want to try Biergarten as well as some of the CS food in the various countries (Japan, England - to name a few!) Oh and school bread! haha SO that is a heck of a lot of eating to cram into one day! Now I will say that we could go to Akerhaus bkfst on our last day before we fly home (not sure if this would be a hassle getting in and out of the back of the park just to go to bkfst there) or we could go to Epcot our first night there just for a few hours to eat at some of the CS places or to go to Biergarten.

So what is your thinking? Should we plan to pay the new higher cost or just go to 1900 PF and leave it at that?

If we don't go to Akerhaus - how easy is it to find the princesses at the various countries in WS??? My older daughter absolutely HAS to meet Snow White! haha

THANK YOU!

My family loves Akerhaus! The breakfast is the best character meal we had in Dec. and its much better than CRT. We liked it so well we are going back in May. Even though its pricy I think its worth it and it does include a nice picture package. If you choose not to go it is very easy to see Snow White in Epcot. She and Dopey are in Germany throughout the day. Have a great time!

I think its worth doing once. My girls loved it when we took them about 4 years ago. Is it worth the cost for the food? No, but imo non of the character meals have outstanding food. If I had to choose between 1900 Park Fare and Akershus I would pick Akershus. Akershus just has better characters.

Is there any way to see Cinderella if not at 1900 PK or CRT? Does she show up at Akerhaus? Or easily available other places in the park/s?

Akershurs was even my DH's fav breakfast. Actually it ws one of his fav meals. We loved it. We had an early pre park opening ADR so we missed nothing that day by doing a TS meal. Characters were great. We are definatly going back to that one! We also did 1900 Park Fair and while the characters were ok, step sisters were the best, the food and the seating were so not. DH said he will never go back not even so DD's can see Cinderella.

So like someone else said if it was between the 2 we would go with Akershurs hands down. Plus the pic included makes it even better!

My DH is exactly the same way...we first tried Akershus 2 years ago for breakfast (we too had an ADR before the park even opened) and my DH LOVED the whole atmosphere and food. He loved it so much that he requested going back there on our upcoming trip (he NEVER requests any sort of restaurant, he always leaves that up to me). The Princesses are great, they spent a LOT of time with our DDs. We have never been to 1900 Park before, so I can't comment on it. But as for CRT, that is a good place to go to however, it is VERY expensive (BUT you are in the castle), but for the money, I would definately choose Akershus. Good luck deciding.

We did both last month (tons of pics and full reviews in my Jan link).

The Princess breakfast was a huge hit with our nieces, we did it back in 06 and it was just as fantastic the second time around. From food to interaction it was a winner.

1900 PF was a bust, long wait, noisy place, terrible food and a super slow server. The character interaction was great but we all left hungry

OK I think I've been convinced to go to Akerhaus for bkfst! haha THANKS!!!! (And now i'm reconsidering 1900 Park Fare and may dump that one!)

I went to akershus a year or so ago before the price change and I went for lunch and it was fabulous! The food was really good imo (I got the lamb stew type dish and it was yummy!) and the princess's were great. The inside is really pretty too!

I don't know how much the price increase is but I had a great experience there! I'm sure your daughters would love it. :)

I don't know about the breakfast food though, sorry!

Hey there Picabo!

Going to have to side with the majority here and also say that Akerhaus is one hell of a Breakfast! Good characters and a really yummy and filling meal! We did it about 2 years ago ... loved it ... certainly worth the time and $.

I KNOW that $$$ is a factor, trust me I feel your pain! But, it's your vacation and the perfect time and excuse to blow it out! You want your vacation to consist of super fun memories ... not regrets of what you "should have" done.

In the end, it's YOUR decision to make but "I" think the experience is well worth it ... not just for your little girls ...but for you too!!!

BUT, before I go I have to agree with MickeyNicki about 1900 P.F. It is really depressing to see how that place went downhill. We went there last April and were seriously disappointed. Service, noise level and the fact that it seemed like they had cut down on the size of the buffet ... the selection just did not seem like it was there.

Regardless of what you decide just find your way back and let us know what you decided and how it went!!! ;-)

Have A Magical Day!

I think the princess interaction is "worth it". No guarantees of Snow White there (we only saw her at the castle.) But the princesses at Akershus spent a fair amount of time with DD4 and our lunch was good.
If your oldest DD is like mine, you will have to prod her to get her to eat a bite or two of that pricey meal. She'll be too focused on princesses so the food money is wasted. Think of it as entertainment money. :)
At least your little one should be free for now.

This was our favourite breakfast on our trip. Loooooved the potato casserole and the smoked salmon. And the girls all loved the princesses.

Cindy does sometimes show up at Akershus, but it seems most often for lunch/dinner. :)

Toontown is another option.

I think Akershus is definitely worth it! It's a wonderful breakfast and we get to meet 5 princesses all in one place!

if you have an early flight this meal will be quite expensive as you still need a ticket to get into Epcot to eat breakfast in Norway.

We are doing both the Akerhous for breakfast AND the Park Fair for dinner.
I thought CRT was too expensive for breakfast

Can someone tell me what is on the buffet part of breakfast please? Thanks!

Characters: The choice of characters is great here - we got to meet Lady Jane from Tarzan - but the character interaction is usually rushed as it's a big restaurant.

Food - Horrible! We've eaten for B, L & D, several times each, and we just don't care for the food. The cold buffet is actually better than any of the hot food.

Service - Very spotty, sometimes good, and sometimes bad.

Atmosphere - The inside has some seriously cramped and crowded areas, making for awkward character interaction.

Price - Yikes! I know you get a photo package, but Disney only values those at a few dollars (it was on my receipt for CRT when I used DDE). The photos themselves are not the greatest quality either. That being said, my DD loves her posed photos from Norway.

Basically, I am going to say that it is definitely not worth the price. We won't be going back, as we've done it several times now, and so we've seen all of the princesses many times. It is good to see them all in one place, no lines, and to hide out in the air conditioning, but the price and the subpar food just doesn't make it a value to us any longer. 1900 Park Fare is much better - that's my DD's favourite for B with Alice/Mad Hatter/Pooh & Friends, and D with Cindy, Prince and Steps.

Good luck, Tiger :)

DD and I did the Akershus breakfast earlier this month and thought it was worth it to do once. We got there just as they started serving and the place seemed to fill up pretty quick. I'm not sure our server could keep up with all the tables at once. We received a pretty small plate to split between DD and I. I had read on here that you could request to have a Mickey waffle, so DD asked to have one and the server seemed a little upset by it.

Having a chance to see so many of the princesses in one meal was very nice though. Cindy was not there when we went.

Also, for those of you who want to see Snow White. We were at MK on 4 different days earlier this month, and she was by the photo store (I forget the name) every morning!
