I've only been to AK once, haven't been there in 7 years, and know that it has been expanded since that visit.

On my upcoming trip in November, I'm only planning to spend a day there (maybe less). Here's my list of MUST DO attractions:

It's Tough to Be a Bug
Dinosaur
Kilamanjaro Safari
Kali River Rapids
Festival of the Lion King

Anything else I should add to my list? I should probably add that it's a mother/daughter trip (she's 16). Many thanks!

We really like both of the walking trails--Pagani in Africa and Maharajah (sp?) in Asia. It's a nice to stroll and not race from attraction to attraction.

Have a great trip!

I also highly recommend the trails. If you only have time to do one then I recommend the one in Asia.

Another do not miss - wandering the trails around the Tree of Life and trying to identify as many animals as possible.

Tarzan Rocks -- It's scheduled to leave soon and it is so much fun.

We love Tarzan Rocks, too. Make sure you see it this last time. Lion King show and It's tough to be a Bug, not to be missed.

I think the street performers shouldn't be missed, they put on some great shows. The trails are beautiful and I love to linger in the oasis. The AK is mt 2nd favorite park so I plan on spending 2 days there.

AK is my favourite park. If it not busy you can see a lot. We went the end of Aug. and because of the heat we left after the 1pm Fest. of Lion King. We saw everything on your list (Rapids and Dinosaurx2) plus the Maharajah trail, Tarzan Rocks, Primeal Whirl, The tree of Life and stopped to see several street preformers. We did not rush as DH can't go fast--he needs a knee and hip replacement. Flame Tree BBQ had the best ribs for lunch. Hopefully it isn't busy, but at least it will be cooler!!

It's tough to be a bug. DS and I were just saying how much we love that show.

We really love the two walking trails, especially the one in Asia. Grab a fastpass for Kali, spend some time with the tigers on the trail, and then head back for your Kali ride. We usually only spend half a day in AK (the sun can be brutal anytime of year) then hit another park at night or DTD, or spend a late evening (close AK or EMH) in the animal kingdom as it is a beautiful park at night!

Vote for It's A Bugs Life. We loved that show. My DS 8 also loved Tarzan Rocks.

Some people say this is boring, but I love to take the train to conservation station. My mom's favorite thing in the WHOLE park is there...it is this thing where you and 4-5 people go into a small, dark listening booth and listen to an audio recording about the rainforest. It is very cool...it feels like a snake is crawling around you and a lumberjack is cutting you in half. I really recommend it.

Kilomanjaro Safari and Dinosaur are my favorite in AK. I also like It's Tough to be a Bug, Primeval Whirl and the trails.

I haven't seen Tarzan Rocks yet, but it is on the top of my list for this year since it is leaving. :(

Its not an attraction, but, consider the tours "wild by design" or "back stage safari" . Other than that, all of the above suggestions are excellent.

First came Extraterrorestrial Adventure and Stich's Great Escape. Now it's Dinosaur. This is another Disney ride that I just plain didn't like. It seemed violent and loud without a reason. The technology of the car was very impressive, but the ride just shakes you back and forth as hard as they possibly can. You'll want to do this once to say you did it, but that might be all.

Kali River Rapids, I loved the theming of the queue!

That's too funny! I thought of that same thing when I read this thread. I can't remember what it's called, but we really loved that. It's not a Big Deal attraction, but it's really cool. We're taking the kids & grandkids in Dec & definately doing Conservation Station.

The first time we went to AK I'd had Lion King and Flights of Wonder on my list, but the plans got derailed after DS discovered the Boneyard. I finally saw Flights of Wonder on a solo trip and watched it three times that day! I brought the Dkids back this past July and "forced" them to go to FoW and FotLK - now they say those are the best shows ever. We also love KRR - the kids for the ride, me for the queue theming. Interestingly, the one attraction that none of us feels compelled to do again is the safari. It's nice, but we can see the same animals at our local zoo with a much shorter wait.
