Traveling with a 5 and 7 year olds and only doing the one day at AK on Dec 9th. Will be using resort transportation.

AK open till 8 pm that day and we want to stay till the end to take advantage of the extra magic hours.

However, I'm thinking the Boma trip will just kill the extra magic hours as we've never been to the AKL and I hear you can spend some time there looking around before and after diner.

So then all that is left is Yak and Yeti and Tuskers, if you had to pick one which one would you pick, or are both bad enough that I should spend the time to do a quick trip to BOMA for a 5 pm ADR?

Many thanks,

Matthew:confused3

PS we will do BOMA another day if we can't get it done on the 9th

We love Yak 'n' Yeti so much that we ate there twice last month during a one-week trip. DS, now 11, loves it and has enjoyed it on our last trip as well. I am talking about the TS restaurant, not the CS, outdoor seating place. We highly recommend Yak 'n' Yeti!!!

We also went to Yak & Yeti in August. We enjoyed the food very much and will go back. I think the park closed at 5:00, we had a 5:45 ressie. The park was deserted when we came out, so we got some nice pictures with no one in them. :goodvibes

We double up on the Y&Y also. There are so many good dishes. Start with the green bean appetizer. The steak/shrimp is really good, and I finally got a taste of the ribs. Yum. I'd stay away from the lo mein. My friend's dd11 ordered it, and it was more veggies than noodles. She picked the noodles out one at a time. Unless you'd like it like that, of course. ;) The Mahi Mahi is decent (great sauce). My dd likes the honey chicken, also.

Tusker House will be similar to what you'd find at Boma, but not as extensive. Call it Boma Lite if you want. ;)

I have not done Yak and Yeti, but it gets mixed reviews here. Some people love it, others think it's mediocre. It's up to you to decide where it falls. You won't know until you try the place for yourself.

I was just trying to figure out the same thing for the same day! Getting geared up to make our ADRs this weekend, and that's the only day I wasn't sure about. We've eaten at Boma before, and we liked it, but I'd much rather take advantage of the EMH that night. We may be tying Y&Y this time so we can do just that.;)

i have done breakfast at tusker and loved it. :thumbsup2 i have not had lunch there since the renovations so i am not sure if it is the same or not, but it was very good before.

yak and yeti has been fantastic everytime. :worship: we just love it.... the best ribs ever and the best egg roles i have ever had. have never had the noodles???

i don't think you can go wrong with either of those and of course boma is always outstanding. i could dine at the soup station every day.;)

I would recommend Tusker House since your kids are 5 and 7. We ate at both places for lunch during our June vacation. My boys still waved about the green beans and corn dogs from Tusker House. They must have at least 2 plates of corndogs plus at least 8 other plateful of food. I, on the other hand, loved the seafood stew and the curry chicken dish alot. My DH ate so fast and so much, he loved everything there. We have eaten at Boma twice in the past. We preferred Tusker House over Boma. :confused3 Maybe, next year, we will give Boma another try.
