Hello All . . .

Just wondering which view you would recommend when staying at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. The only mentioned on their web site is the Arusha Savanna, but then it goes on to say there are "4 lush, tropical savannas." Any thoughts? Thanks in advance! :woohoo:

There are standard view, pool view, savanna view, and arusha savanna view. The savanna view and arusha savanna view are simply different sections of the savanna. The arusha savanna view is more expensive than just a savanna view. Then of course there are the different types are beds available (bunk beds w/ queen, 2 queens, etc.). If you are going to make use of the view and/or are willing to spend the money then I would go with either of the savanna views. We love AKL and have always gone with a savanna view room with bunk beds and a queen bed. However, some people don't think the extra money is worth it. I will say that even if you don't get a savanna view room, you can still view the animals onsite by walking the the observation areas at the hotel. I hope this helps! :)

I wouldn't describe the savannahs as lush, they are more grassland with trees, the pool area, however, has grown quite lush, IMO. Assuming you are staying in Jambo house (the main resort) Arusha is the middle savannah which the resort wings encompass. The two other savannahs you can see from Jambo are Sunset savannah (left as you face the back of the resort)- which is visible from rooms off the hallways named Kudu trail and Ostrich trail; and Uzima savannah (right as you face the back of the resort) which is visible from rooms off the hallway named Zebra trail.
Here's a map

Btw, the 4th savannah is called Pembe and is quite small, it's only visible from a few villas in the DVC only portion of AKL (Kidani) - or if you take the Wanyama dinner safari.
More important than which savannah, is where you are on the savannah, IMO, near a waterhole, or a feeding area (they put food up in particular trees for the Giraffes, for example) being prime locations, out in the narrow areas of Uzima or Sunset or over a people pen being less desirable.
