AK - What are the best things to do - and how long will it take?

I've been debating between Tusker House and Flame Tree. I think we may go to Flame Tree for the ribs or maybe the bbq sandwich. Also, I've heard there is nice seating by the water so we will try to find that seating area.

We never done Tusker House because I just can't tear myself away from Flame Tree. It's a great bbq place. Yes, there is very nice, peaceful seating by the water.

Make sure you continue back behind the restaurant & get a very relaxing place. If it's busy while you're there, have the person you're with get the table while you wait in line for food.

We went to AK on our first day at WDW in late Sept. We checked in at POP first, getting to AK about 10:30. We saw the following in this order:

Expedition Everest
Kali River Rapids
Dinosaur
Kilimanjaro Safaris
Festival of the Lion King (my favorite)
It's Tough to be a Bug

We took plenty of breaks, walked slowly (it was very hot), and did not need to use any fast passes. Having been to AK several times before we saw everything that we wanted to and were getting back in our car by 3:30.
