Pricing out rooms for our next trip...thinking about staying at the AK villas. Just wondering if there is any difference between the two? Thanks!

Kidani is newer and fresher but I like Jambo better. You can't beat walking through the lobby in the morning--it's so impressive. I love all the sites and smells. Plus, as much as Kidani has a fun pool for younger kids, Jambo House has gorgeous landscaping and shade.

The studios are about the same space wise, the bathroom setup is a little different. Jambo has the sinks outside the bathroom, Kidani has the sinks inside the bathroom.

1 & 2 bedrooms are much larger at Kidani and feature an extra bathroom (2 in a 1 bedroom, 3 in a 2 bedroom). The master bathroom features a large walk-in shower plus separate tub. At Jambo, the master bathrooms have a combo jet tub/shower.

Not sure about the differences with Grand Villas.

Jambo House is converted hotel rooms. Kidani Village was constructed as DVC Villas from scratch.

All the DVC villas at JH are on the fifth and sixth floors. Sixth floor is five two bedroom lockoff villas with concierge privileges (and difficult to get).

buses stop first at kidani and then at jambo (except for DTD buses), so there is a risk that jambo guests might have to wait.

jambo has a counter service dining option (mara) + jiko and boma. kidani only has sanaa (not an option for breakfast.)

Boma is the hustle and bustle of the resort.

Kidani is the sleepy little village.

Boma does have more restaurant option, but that didn't bother me. We made quick breakfast's in our villa. We got our refillable mugs down in the gift shop and could fill them up there or by the pool at Kidani.

If we need to go to Jambo House we took the bus, walked or even were shuttled over in a golf cart.

I like both sides. We have stayed at Jambo house 2 times and at Kidani 2 times.

Both pools are nice. Both resorts are nice.

As an adult couple, we prefer Jambo but I'd head for Kidani with kids because of the wonderful water play area and extra space.

I've stayed at both & prefer Kidani for the serenity. It's so peaceful after a long day in the parks to come "home" to complete quiet. Also we love the extra bathroom in the Kidani 1BR - the Jambo 1BR only has 1 bathroom.

Villas at Kidani also all have the sleeper chair in the LR - so an extra bed if needed. I think some villas at Jambo have or are planning to add that, does anyone know if they all have these yet?

I love Kidani, but wouldn't turn down Jambo if Kidani wasn't available.

The standard and savanna view villas (one bedroom or larger) have the sleeper chair at Jambo House. The value villas do not because it wouldn't fit and, therefore, they only sleep 4 or 8.
