With DIS and TGM on the screen, and Passporter in hand; I have been cracking down on vacation planning. Both DH and I visited MK back in the 80's. We feel like this is our first trip. Trying to visualize the parks and put it into a touring plan has been a challenge. Being first-timer's we feel we need to have structure.

Cast: Me 28, Dh, 31 and two Ds's 3 and 1
Goal: Activities/Rides centered around our children's loves.

AK Tour Plan
0840 - Arrive at rope drop
0900 - Park opens. FP runner to KS. Others to Dinoland
T.Spin
Nemo Show
Boneyard (adult ride Dinosaur* while other stays with boys)
1020 - Be @ Donald's B. for 1030 brunch ADR
M. Jungle Trek
Head to Africa
Kilimanjaro Safari
Pangani Forest Trail*
Wildlife Express Train*
Festival of Lion King

* optional if spirits are flagging

We would like to be out of AK by 1-2p. Does this plan fit that time frame? Am I thinking correctly that we should hang around Dinoland until our 1030 ADR. I figure the Nemo show will run about 30 minutes long.

All experience and suggestions welcome! Thanks for reading!

why not all just go to ks, and then do the forest trail then, then make your way to dinoland via asia and do the jungle trek. you will have time in dino land before and after your breakfast to do what you want, and then head over to festival.

We didn't particularly want to race with the crowd over to KS. That is why we plan to FP it and do a (hopefully) empty Dinoland. :)

Hi Jenn,

Just be sure that Dinoland opens at the same time as the rest of the park.
We've done a touring plan very similar to yours with small children and the addition of a senior in a wheelchair, which didn't allow us to race to KS. For one year, Dinoland was open at the same time; the other year it opened an hour later - BUT had some Pooh characters at the gate to Dinoland to let us get autographs and photos while waiting.

My understanding is that with EE, Dinoland usually opens with the rest of the park. One parent can go to Tricerotops Spin and the Boneyard while the other can get FP for Safaris. Then switch off for Dinosaur (with no wait) while the kids get dirty at the Boneyard. It works, and allows the parent with two kids to happily be slowed down at the entrance to see characters and interesting animals instead of having to pass this by, dragging the kids behind.

My only other recommendation is that if your kids enjoy the Safaris, they might also enjoy Flights of Wonder. My kids were fascinated by both, and they were only a little older than yours.

Have a great time - it's our favorite park!
