AK to Poly

I am working on the details of my trip. I want to do AK because of the EMH that day but I have an 8 PM ADR for the Luau at the Poly that night. I really want to stay to get pics of AK after dark, not worried about any of the rides or shows except maybe Dinosaur. I love that ride. If I leave AK around 7 will I have time to get to Poly by 7:45 or should I plan on leaving a little earlier? I never really care about travel times other than this and don't stay at the deluxe resorts so I am not sure of the travel times between the parks to there. Thanks.

Just to build in a bit of "pad," leave DAK about 6:45.

It's also kind of a long walk from the Poly's entrance back to the Luau.

Thanks Robo. I knew from past threads you would have the answer. As I said I really want the EMH for night pics as I have never been to AK after 5. I am thinking that by 6 in Dec it should be dark enough for the shots I want and now have a better idea of the time frame.

Thanks. I just want to be able to check in at the podium on time. We will explore the Poly after the Luau. I just wasn't sure of the distance between the 2 places.

I don't know your date but entered 12/1 on the US Naval Observatory site and found that sunset at Lake Buena Vista 5:28. Civil twilight is 5:53.

The bus to the Polynesian will almost certainly go to the CR first. I personally would allow even more time than the esteemed Robo advised in case you just miss a bus.

Another option when going to the Polynesian is to take the MK/TTC bus. On Robo's map, you can see how close the TTC is to the Polynesian. You can make the short walk from the TTC or hop the resort monorail. When I take a bus from DHS or DAK to the Polynesian, I hop whichever comes first....TTC or CR/Polynesian.

We stayed at the Tahiti in May we did not take buses so I cannot help you there. However the last post is right if you take the ttc stop you can connect at the poly at the end of tahiti. There are two paths. The one to the left takes you past the parking lots, under the monorail and to the main entrance, which is beautiful. I would recommend you go straight down the far right path, between tahiti and Rapa Nui at the end of Tahiti take a right and you will be at Tahiti's beach on the right with the path continuing on the left. if you follow the path it will take you past the other beaches the pool etc. Very pleasant walk. should take you 8-10minutes from the TTC to the show. A little longer if you walk slowly.
