We will be doing AK on Monday October 19th. The goal is to do what we'd like at AK then hop to MK to see MSEP and WISHES (trying to avoid MK that day as its predicted high crowd levels and we will be doing 2 MNSSHP nights later in the week). We will be at AK at 9am for opening.

At AK we only want to do:
Kilimanjaro Safaris
Everest
Its Tough to be a Bug
Dinosaur
Kali
1pm res at Tusker House.

Since its a projected low crowd day for AK, I'm hoping we can finish before park closing. Should we use our FP+'s at AK or do you think we will be able to leave early enough to use them at MK instead? I plan to be at my staked out spot for MSEP/WISHES by 8pm. Just not sure if we'll have enough time to do 3 rides at MK from the time we get there until 8pm since I really have no concept on how long AK will take that day. Appreciate any help from those who have been in late October and park hopped like this.

Note: We will be driving from AK to MK to park.

We are doing a split park day between AK and MK in early Nov. Planning to FP+ MK and hit all the AK rides in stand by. Before noon we've never had a problem. (especially your time of year)

Are you planning to be at AK for rope drop? FWIW, I've never been in October, but I think if you want to do Everest, Kilimanjaro, and Kali, you're likely do have a decent amount of time in standby for at least one of those three even if you do rope drop.

At AK, we rope drop and head straight for Everest. Last year, we rode it 3 times in a row on standby with zero wait. After that, we walked over to Dinosaur and did that on standby with minimal wait. We had FP for Kilimanjaro mid-morning and Kali after lunch when it got hot. We had an early afternoon FP for another ride on EE. (We're big fans of EE.)

We are doing an AK morning/MK evening on our trip in September. We plan on doing AK all standby by getting there early (Do Safari, Everest, Kali, then Dinosaur in the first 1.5-2 hours and then everything else shouldn't require much of a wait) and using FP at MK. It seems like AK is the easiest park to do without FP.

Now, you may want to consider using one of your 3 FP at MK on MSEP or Wishes, since doing so won't be preventing you from getting a good 4th FP anyway as you're arriving late, especially if it's going to be a busy night with a large crowd. Since you have to book the FP in separate one hour windows, it would be pretty hard to use 3 FP over a 3 hour timespan before the evening entertainment (depending on how early you plan to get there).

If you look at easywdw he has a touring plan for the morning with no FP+
http://www.easywdw.com/cheatsheets/ak_cheatsheet_v3.pdf

"Morning Touring Plan without FastPass+:

  1. Ride Kilimanjaro Safaris: 8:55am – 9:25am

  2. Ride Kali River Rapids or Meet Mickey at Adventurers Outpost: 9:35am – 9:50am

  3. Ride Expedition Everest: 9:55am – 10:15am

  4. Ride DINOSAUR: 10:25am – 10:55am

  5. Ride Primeval Whirl: 11am – 11:20am

  6. Ride TriceraTop Spin: 11:22am – 11:35am
  • Have lunch. Restaurantosaurus and Flame Tree Barbecue are nearby. "

So, I am thinking you should be able to get everything in by 1pm for your ADR at TH. I would use the FP+ for MK.

Lots of good suggestions.

Are we able to book FP+ for 2 parks in 1 day? Say we went backwards in AK and did Dino first, followed by Everest, and FP Kali, then Tough to be a Bug, then FP Kilimanjaro Safari. Could we use our 3rd FP at Space Mountain at MK before the parade/fireworks?

The first three fast passes you make have to be in the same park.

If you use your three in AK then hop to MK you can make your 4th at a kiosk for something at MK. Heard mixed news about the ability to make a fast pass in one park for a different one. Seems the technology is there.

If AK is supposed to be a low crowd day I wouldn't waste FPs there. We used the easywdw plan that Mata Hari posted when we were there in April and had very short waits. We were done all of those by lunch. Make your FPs for MK in the afternoon.

MK for FP+ for sure. Otherwise when you get to MK, you'll be waiting in even longer lines.

If you are at AK at rope drop, you'll be fine!
