AK to Boma to MK?

How possible would it be to eat at BOMA at 5, (leaving from the AK), when it opened for dinner, and then be in the MK in time for Spectromagic at 8? I know I have to factor in a long bus drive between the two, and getting a spot for spectro. It seems like I'd be cutting it close, but it may be possible. I've never been before, what do you think? I'm having a really hard time fitting BOMA into my itinerary! How long does a dinner at BOMA take?

Depending on how big an eater you are, you can get through dinner at Boma in 60-90 minutes. Factor in the fact that you might not get seated directly at 5, and you can conservatively say that the max time between checking in at the podium and leaving AKL would be 2 hours.

Leaving AKL at 7, figuring a 20 minute wait for a bus, then a 20 minute bus ride, you'd have 20 minutes left to get through the bag check line and the line at the gates, and stake out a place somewhere for Spectro.

If all goes well (i.e. you get seated quickly, take only 60 minutes to eat, and get a bus to MK without a long wait), you could be in place for Spectro as much as an hour early. If everything takes the max time, you would be in place just before the parade starts, so you might not get the best spot, but you can still make it.

I think you'll have plenty of time as long as you keep a watchful eye on your watch.

IN my experience, it should not take you more then 30 min to get to AKL from AK. How ever, the transportation from there is pretty poor. Assuming that you spend 30 min to get your PS and take 1 hour for diner, you should make it to MK in time for SpectroMagic, but I wouldn't bet any money on that.

This is EXACTLY what I did last year, and I'm doing it this year as well . It worked out just fine. I even had time to look in AKL's souvenier shop before catching the bus over to MK. It was nice going to MK just to see the parade and fireworks after dinner.

A few weeks ago while I was there, I did go to Boma, then to MK for the parade and fireworks. I had more than enough time!

As it turns out, I was able to snag a dinner time for CRT, on the day I'm planning to go to AK. So plans have changed and I'm going to go to Boma another night.
