So what's the consensus on the night time safari at Animal Kingdom? I can choose to go at 9:15 in the morning or 9:15 at night. Which would you choose and why?

Honestly, if you go right there at park open, it wouldn't make sense to make a FP for 9:15 in the morning unless it was crazy busy and you just wanted the guarantee of it. I would do the nighttime, since it's new.

We have done a couple of late night safaris in the last week and have seen very little... the faux sunset is cool and would be really neat if it was a bit larger but still spending 20 minutes in the truck with a guide that can't find a single animal and trying to amuse everyone was just a bit too much.

If you get it at dusk where you can still see the animals, it's a great night ride with really active animals. If it's dark, your just going for a bumpy truck ride in the woods and seeing nothing and daytime is better.

I do recommend earlier in the morning as animals hate the hot sun too and tend to be less active.

We we at Disney World June 3-13. We did the night time safari twice. We were disappointed. It is understandable that you may NOT see a lot of animals, but we felt like it was boring. It could have been more worthwhile if the guides/drivers had given some interesting information about the animals we WERE or WEREN'T seeing.

One of our favorite parts about the safari is what you can LEARN about the animals. We had two day time safaris, and both guides were excellent. The one told us the gender of most of the animals that we saw, and we even learned their name. He even went so far as to translate their name!!! The other guide was also very informative, and you could tell that she was extremely passionate about the educational part of the attraction.

We will be back in October, and give the night time safari one more try. Unless I see on the boards that it is still the experience. I even joked with my husband that maybe they could wheel out some animatronics after sunset.
