AK Safari and KR rapids seasonally open?

In some places it says that these rides are open only seasonally. What does that mean? Does it have to be above a certain temperature for them to be open? Are they ever actually closed, due to temperature or rain? thanks.

They're open all the time. Kali River Rapids sometimes opens later in the morning (10am or so), and both may stop during thunderstorms as they are both outside.

I think seasonally refers to whether they will be open during EMH hours

At last night's EMH, the safari and Kali were not open. In fact, there was a sign saying that the last safari was leaving at 4:45 due to the early sunset.

This makes sense as there are no lights on the safari and it would be to cold after the sun goes down to get soaked on Kali.

I can't imagine the safari ever being closed due to cold. I was at AK on what must have been a record cold day, 1/3/2001 (I'm pretty sure that was the day). FOLK show was cancelled in the morning, but the safari ride was operating. When I got off, I went to the restroom and my knees were the same shade of blue as my denim jean dress!

I think today was the new record cold day. I absolutely froze out there. My hands were blue this morning setting up my truck...then even with gloves on afterwards, it was difficult to wrap my hands around the steering wheel.

re: the OP's question; we operate year round. Our closing hours may fluctuate with the sunsets seasonally, but we've never not opened due to the weather. We've been closing at 4:45 for a few weeks now, but as of tonight we're back to 5pm closings. And, RyMickey, we're driving around out there even during the thunderstorms

I was at WDW then, too! What a FRIGID day. That night we went to E ticket night at the MK.... it got down to 32 degrees, with a 23 degree wind chill.... the day we were going home them temp finally got back up in the 60's!
