Just booked Free Dining for our upcoming trip! I can't make my ADRs for a while, but, of course, my planning is in overdrive and I pretty much know all of the places I would like to try for. We haven't spent much time at AK and I was just wondering what your thoughts were for the table-service restaurants in AK and in the area. Thanks a bunch!!!

We really enjoyed our Tusker House character breakfast. We are not breakfast eaters so we booked the latest breakfast time and made it a brunch. That worked perfectly for us because Tusker House had many items that were not traditional breakfast items. We've eaten there for lunch before also and liked the food.

We've eaten at Yak n Yeti twice and although most people on the dis think it's great, we did not care for it. I wasn't expecting gourmet but I thought it'd be close to the quality of a PF Changs at least, but it was not. The entree prices are fairly expensive so if you are looking to maximize the value of your dining plan, this is a good place to do that.

We've also eaten at Rainforest Cafe there twice. Although the food is okay, we just can't stand the noise/darkness of the place.

We think one of the best counter services in WDW is the Flame Tree BBQ here so we actually eat counter service here more than we do TS.

If you are interested in TS restaurants, there are only two at AK that accept the dining plan. Yak & Yeti is a standard table service with vaguely Asian cuisine. (Like the previous poster I would say don't expect gourmet or even upscale dining there. Y&Y is operated by the same company that operates Rainforest Cafe and T-Rex. The food's pretty good but don't go looking for fantastic.) Tusker House is a buffet (characters at breakfast).

We've never done Rainforest Cafe -- don't like the one in Chicago or Vegas so not going to bother with the one at Disney; never done Tusker House. We died at Yak & Yeti last year at my DH's request (I am not big on that type of food). It was the second best meal of our trip...we really enjoyed everything about it. And the portions were huge and none of us (our best friends were with us) could eat the dessert...so we took it to go.

We had lunch at Yak & Yeti last year and really enjoyed it. We will be back there again this year.

I'm really looking forward to Yak & Yeti!!

We have a late breakfast or an early lunch at the RFC whenever we go to AK. There's plenty of food, plenty of choices, and our DD loves the theming of the place. Also, it's cold (great to get out of the heat), and a great break from the park.:)

Rainforest Cafe, however, does not accept the dining plan.

Of the places in AK, the only TS we have done is Tusker House. We enjoyed it (and had a great server!), but in general, we just eat at Flame Tree when we are in the AK. We give Rainforest a pass, not because we hate it, but because we can eat at a Rainforest whenever we visit DWs parents, so it's not a big deal.
