AK Question - Tusker House???

I am trying to get my plan for our family WDW trip in June. We have a ps at 8am for Breakfastosaurus. On the past several trips we have done lunch at Flame Tree (which we *love*!). But i was thinking of trying something different this trip. Is Tusker House a good choice for lunch? I had read somewhere about it being family-style at times? I would really perfer a counter-service meal for that day for us.

Have you been to Tusker House for lunch? Did you enjoy it? Is it counter-service?

Tusker House is counter service. I am like you - I love Flame Tree and can't tear myself away to try something new. Outside the restaurant they have plated samples of their entrees and they look really good. Tusker House gets great reviews and each trip I promise myself I will try it.

Tusker house is counter service, but soooo good. We eat there every trip to AK. I don't think you will be dissapointed if you go.

We have eaten at Tusker House and have loved it! Even though it is a counter service restaurant, the meals are like table service. It was a pleasant surprise. We will definitely go back!

I love the Tusker House! This is my favorite place to dine at Animal Kingdom. The food is hot and very tasty.

Tusker House is counter service but it is very good. The choices are very good for counter service. I really enjoy the chicken breast sandwhich.

We always go to the Tusker House when are in AK. My DH and I split the Half Rotisserie Chicken it comes with garlic mashed potatoes and fresh seasonal vegetables...it is more then enough food for the two of us. It is very good and our DDs love it also.

While Tusker House is my favorite counter service (sorry, haven't eaten at Flame Tree so can't make a comparison), it still is counter service and does not in any way compare to a full-service restuarant in my book.

Tusker house is yummy! I agree, the chicken sandwich was my favorite! Big portion, plenty for one or two to share a lite lunch. However....I have to say that my kids didn't like the kids meals. They offered drumstick's and mac and cheese. They didn't even eat it, which is shocking. Instead, they snarfed down my yummy chicken sandwich!

The Tusker House is great!!... I recommend the fried chicken sandwich and if you are on a diet, the chicken salad is great to.

We have ate at the Flame Tree as well. It was ok, but to tell you the truth, we won't go back. Tusker House is better in my family's opinion.

We have heard so many good review of Tusker House, so we plan on eating there for the first time in November. Can't wait!

I'm still unclear as to how the points are recorded on the room key...It is my understanding that since there are 3 of us (2 adults & 1 child ), we will have 30 counter service & 30 table service plus 30 snacks for our 10 night stay...Are the childrens meals credited as such or can the credits be used all as regular meals? If so, we could split bigger meals and get more food for the money. Has anybody done this yet?
