This thread will be about Animal Kingdom.

We are trying to get as much info about rides/attractions so that we can make a helpful guidebook about the AK attractions.:thumbsup2

These are the questions we are hoping to be able to answer. It's a long list and if each person can add a few pieces, we will have a lot more information than we have now - so don't feel like you have to answer every question by yourself;)
Please post whatever information about AK you can add on this thread.
Please only post park information here. If you want to discuss the idea of making a guidebook, Click here to get to the MASTER INDEX THREAD that gives information about the idea.http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?p=21012175#post21012175

On another thread, people had the good idea of copying the questions and responding to them.
I have one request though. To make it easier to go thru and compile information, I would like people to delete any of the questions not being answered or those that you would answer "I don't know".

That will make it much easier to pull the information out later.

Thanks.

Just wanted to add on a wee bit to the Kilimanjaro Safaris post, from the perspective of a former CM, in case this information is at all helpful:

Approach to the Ride
4. Where is wheelchair/ECV/stroller parking for those who choose to walk through the line? Yes, a long way away
Stroller parking is probably at least 3/4 of the way in to the queue, if not closer. Wheelchairs & ECVs travel the entire length on the queue, splitting to a separate dock. Wheelchairs & ECVs are parked on this separate dock, where the wheelchair compatible ride vehicles depart & return to.

2. Is the queue indoors or outdoors? Shaded or not? Mostly in the sun with some areas of shade
The entire queue is in the shade, whether you utilize the Fastpass queue or the regular standby queue.

2. How many people can sit per row/ride vehicle? Varies
Typically, 4 adults fit per row. For wheelchair accessible vehicles, 2 adults (per row) may fit in the first two rows, as well as one wheelchair. The rest of the rows on the vehicle will fit 4 adults.

How much of an extra wait did you have for this vehicle? Each wheelchair vehicle is approximately 10-15 minutes from the last. There are at least two wheelchair vehicles. The wait greatly varies depending on how many wheelchair users are waiting for the wheelchair car. For our family where three people used the wheelchair car it was about 40 minutes to ride and 10-15 waiting for a car.
Three wheelchair capable vehicles are dispatched every hour. So a vehicle will be waiting at that particular dock for (in theory) 20 minutes. Three vehicles leave per hour. This set time allows for the safe disembarkment of wheelchair guests and then the safe loading of non-transferable wheelchair guests. The entrance to the wheelchair accessible line occurs at the joining of the standby & Fastpass lines (you will see a Cast Member at the merge point, as well as one just beyond at the gate to allow wheelchairs entrance)

I would like to add something for the Festival of the Lion King. Both of my boys use wheelchairs and can't transfer. We were turned away from a morning show 20 minutes early because the wheelchair seating was already full. I would recommend arriving early for this show.
