AK Plan of Attack for 9/21/06...Comments?

Try to see WES PALM at 8:30am
Catch a couple of characters outside the entrance
Park Opens at 9:00am
Head to EE - Ride it Now & get a FP for later
Go Ride Primeval Whirl
See SMEAR, SPLAT & DIP at 10:00am
Go to Discovery Island
Grab FP for ITTBaB
Have early lunch at Pizzafari
See DEVINE in Asia (11:00am to 11:45am)
Go get a FP for Kali
See FoW at 11:30am
Go Ride EE with FP
Go get FP for KS
See MOR THIAM: African drummer at Mombassa/Tamu Tamu Courtyard 1:00pm
See KARUKA ACROBATS: Kenyan acrobats perform in Harambe 1:45pm
Go Ride KS w/FP
Check for FP availablity at EE
Go Ride Kali with FP
Consider riding EE with or without FP
Go see ITTBaB with FP

Ok, this is what I have come up with. We are on a super tight schedule with only two days in parks and this is the only park that we have the chance to spend the whole day in. We don't wish to do the stage shows this time. We do want to catch some fun stuff like Devine and other non-published acts. We also don't care for Dinosaur and unless there is a new critter born soon, we will skip the train ride out to CS.

Any opinions? Am I missing anything? I look forward to your comments. Maggie

It sort of depends on the crowds. We usually end up doing something like that (minues the search for Devine and the drummers). We never thought FOTLK was worth it until we saw the show. We're not big show people either, but if you've never seen it, that one is by FAR the best show at WDW! (SO, SO much better than the LK Show they used to have at MK! That one was a sleeper.)

On a really crowded day the FP will run out at some point, but then the crowds often die down. You might not need a FP for ITTBAB in the afternoon.

You say you're on a tight schedule. If you've got hopper passes - then you might want to head to another park in the pm (assuming AK closes at 5 - you might be done with your plan before 5 even, and then you'd have until 9 pm at either MK or Epcot)

I agree about skipping the train ride out to Rafiki's Planet Watch, but the other two animal trails are rather nice, and there's never a wait (Asia and Africa).

We have seen FotLK in the past. It's ok, but again, we are just not show people. We do not have Park Hoppers. We have 2 day base tickets. It made no sense to buy anything more. We will buy AP's for our visit next year, but it's still over a year away.

The day that we arrive is 9/20. We fly in early and head to MGM. We go to AK on 9/21 and are taking the night off to eat a nice dinner at our resort and swim/relax. The next morning planned as Breakfast at Kona, shopping at DTD, and MNSSHP! We fly out the next afternoon. It's a quick trip, but it should also be fun! Maggie
