We will be going to AK on Tuesday, October 17th with a 9 am opening. We have an 8:15 am ADR at Tusker House, and that is one of our very favorite things about our trips to WDW so we won't be dropping it. I have absolutely everything crossed to get a FOP FP+ at the second our window opens next week. Assuming we get that, we plan to go directly to Navi when we finish breakfast. I'm hoping we will be there around 9:15-9:30.
Is most everyone still streaming to FOP at rope drop with Navi being the secondary focus and a lesser wait by 9:30? If we commit to waiting if it's less than hour at 9:30, is that our best plan for it? I hate wasting a prime morning hour to do that, but I'm afraid waiting for it any other time that day will be far worse.
Also, try as I may, and believe me I have tried incessantly for a while now and continue to do so, we haven't been able to get a ROL dining package for our breakfast so we're looking at FP+ or standby. I hate wasting a FP+ on it and relegating us to only two FP+ and no chance at another one that day, but I also would hate wasting yet another hour in line for a standby ROL spot OR missing out on it altogether.
If anyone has advice on how best to minimize the time we spend standing around waiting, it would be much appreciated! AK really is one of our favorite parks and has been for years. The idea of spending two hours in line and not enjoying the rest of the park is pretty hard to stomach! Yes, I know skipping Navi and ROL is an option, but we'd like to see them if possible.
