AK plan for a day

Hi just wanted some advice from people that have possibly done this before. We will be going to animal kingdom for the day on September 2 with our 3 children under 10. I am considering getting to the park at opening and then having lunch in the park and staying until about 2 o'clock or 230. At that point going back to our villa at AKL and spending the next few hours there. We would prepare a quick dinner in room and then back to AK for ROL. In your opinion do you think this plan is feasible?

Definitely. We usually leave the first park around noon or 1. Back to the hotel, then hop to a second park. If you're heading back to AK in the afternoon I'd recommend having your fast passes set up for the afternoon when you'll be back and it'll be busier
