I am making a spreadsheet for my trip with park open and close times, as well as times for special events such as parades or evening shows.

I'm looking at the AK calendar for December 11th:

disneyworld.disney.go.com/wdw/calendar/dailyview/index?id=AKCalendarDailyViewPage&date=12/11/2006

For the parade, it says "3:45 pm - null", and then below it says there are no parades scheduled. I looked through every day we'll be at WDW, and it says the same. Is there no such thing as the "Jammin' Jungle Parade" any longer? Or is this some kind of weird typo (the "null" part)?

The standard parade gets replaced by the Jingle Jungle Parade this time of year. I looked at the link you posted. The holiday parade is listed as a special event. Not sure why it also says null, but I don't think it would list the holiday parade if they weren't doing it that day.

Thank you! I was definitely confused....it didn't click that there was a replacement holiday parade. In all our trips, we've never caught the AK parade, and the kids really want to this year.

Thanks again for your help!

You're welcome. I'm hoping we can squeeze the parade into our plans. I only knew about the holiday parade because it will still be happening the week we're there too.

Make sure you see the AK parade. We think it's the best parade at Disney! MY DD8 LOVES it. :cool1:

As I mentioned in my previous post, we would love to see the parade. But we're mostly seeing the parks in the morning, taking an early afternoon break, then doing some sort of evening activity. So if we see the parade, we'll have to squeeze it in. What is the best way to quickly see the parade and leave AK? Where should we try to position ourselves and what time would we likely get out of the park? We've never been to AK before, so I don't know if it is ultimately quicker to start out deeper in the park where I think the parade starts or position ourself as near to the entrance as possible and then make a quick exit after the parade passes.

Find a spot to stand near the main bridge that comes in from the Entrance/Oasis.
Watch the parade until you see Mickey Mouse high on his "vehicle" (he's the end of the parade) and then turn and exit across the bridge and out the gates.

If the parade starts at 3:45pm (it will start back in "Africa") it will take about 12-15 minutes to reach where you are standing near the bridge.
The parade then will last about 15 minutes.
Figure you can be out of the park by 4:20pm, or so.

Thanks. I think that plan should work for us. I forgot to ask how long would we need to stake out a spot before the parade. We'll be going the first week in January if that makes any difference.
