AK Parade...worth seeing?

Is the parade in the AK worth sticking around for? We planning on going there our first day (Sat. 7/11) since we are staying at AKL and would be there when it opens at 9am...

The parade is at 4pm...normally we either take a midday break and come back in or stay....since it will probably be hot is it worth sticking around for or coming back in for?

My two boys are ages 8 & 3 1/2....thanks!!!!!!!

yep - it is well worth it - very cool parade -

the question of staying or going and then returning is entirely a function of your childrens' constitution... if it were me... since you will be at AKL... I show up to the park before it opens... to make sure you can hit rides without horrendous waits... then leave early... go back to akl get rested and cooled off - then return.

I have a 7 year old - we were out of the parks each day by 2 o'clock or earlier...one day by noon... thne go swimming...napped... played token games at the game room...shopped to get my little girl character dresses... we stayed at the contemporary... so getting back to the MK was easy...coming and going was no hassle at all...

if that is your situation... I would take advantage of it... leave and come back at the dictates of your childrens' needs.But if they do not want to leave by 1ish...come up with an excuse or reason to go back to akl anyway... if anything just to get them out of the sun... but obviously don't tell them that... my little girl when confronted with "you look tired" or "you look hot" or anything else that is the real reason we are leaving... well she will deny she is in whatever state you can tell she is in... and she will adamantly want the opposite of what we need to do... on the other hand if I telll her that "Daddy is wiped out" which was normally true anyway... she was very amenable to that....left to her own devices my daughter wanted to go back to the hotel by roughly 2pm anyway... she loves swimming... and the contemporary has a huge kids pool that a child would have to actively try to drown in...I imagine akl has a similar one

The AK parade is fun for all to see. If it was me I would take a pool and lunch break. It can get very hot at AK in July and there are'nt very many places to cool off.

Definitely plan to see the AK parade - it's lots of fun!

The colors used in that parade are fantastic. Also, I think it's marvelous to see the characters in their safari costumes. The music is unique, too. You won't see a parade like this anywhere else, either.

If you need a rest you have a great advantage with being so close to your resort to this park.

YES it's worth seeing!!

I think the parades at Animal Kingdom & Epcot are awesome -- and prior to seeing them I generally did not like parades *LOL*!

These 2 parades are very unique and beautiful. The parades at MGM & MK are fun just because there are tons of chracters, but the AK & Epcot parades are really different!
