Good Morning, all! I am taking my DS's 8, 6 and 3 for a quick 4 night/3 day trip to WDW the first weekend of April. Here is the question, we are definately doing MK and EP, but would you do AK or MGM?
For further info, we are staying at AKL, but will have a car.

At first I thought AK b/c of the chance to ride EE, but I don't know if that is going to happen. Also, we didn't hit AK on our last week long trip in December.

Then, MGM could be fun, too. We will have another family (just mom and kids) with us so we can Rider Switch RnRC.

UGH. Help. Just a little side note, I am taking the kids next February when their dad is on deployment, so it's not like they are never going again.

Which would you choose and why?

Hmmmm...tough choice! Both parks are great in their own way. I guess if I was going to choose, it would be MGM, that way you could stay late for Fantasmic also (great way to end the day). AK closes earlier so unless you can 'hop" to another park, MGM would be the choice.

Whatever you choose, have a great time! :cool1:

I'd pick Animal Kingdom because half my family doesn't like RnR or ToT and we all LOVE Animal Kingdom. MGM is the park that my family spends the least amount of time in, and I don't know that we'd miss it that much if we skipped it totally.

I"m going to go against popular opinion (at this point on this thread anyway lol) and say AK. Now, that's my least favorite park and we were planning on skipping it anyway for MGM, which has been one of my faves. Now that DS is 3, I think he'll enjoy AK much more than MGM. We're ride people so the chance to do EE is fabulous for us and I just think it makes more sense with Jason at this point.

We're also doing a quickie 3nt/4d trip this weekend. I better get packing today!! It's only 45 degrees right now (in northern Fla!) so I'm trying to pack for all weather lol

If you have park hoppers, I would say do both in one day...a long day mind you , but you could get the highlights of both parks...

I would say AK, but that's because MGM is my least favorite park.

Show your kids the attractions at each park and ask where they would like to go.

MGM, by a country mile!

I find AK lacking. EE should help improve the park, but I find it quite dull. Sea Word is better.

Love MGM, luke warm about AK. HAve been to AK twice, just not that into it. We plan to skip it this upcoming trip. MGM has good stuff for the younger crowd, Playhouse Disney, Mermaid, Muppets 3D and my DS's fav place when he was 6.... Honey I Shrunk the Playground. We took him in there for 3 playtimes that day, and he still didn't get tired of it!

Well, my family (12 and 15) could easily skip MGM if it weren't for Fantasmic. We do enjoy some of that park, but AK is one of our favorite parks. We never have enough time at AK. Of course, I will say that if you have to drop one and you want to be in a park later at night then maybed you should choose MGM. If you have hoppers, do both. That's what we did on our first trip with the girls (7 and 10 at the time). Or, if you are staying onsite, choose to do AK on on EMH night. We really like AK at night! It is very different from the day.

I would say do AK- much prettier, IMO. If you have park hoppers, when AK closes at 5pm, head over to MGM to catch a couple rides and Fantasmic.

MGM, probably, although personally prefer Universal Studios.

And would go to Sea World rather than AK.

Mickey Fliers, why is Epcot one of your must do? Just curious because of your young children and I've been trying to make a similar decision. We are doing a quick 2 day and I think we are doing AK/MK and MGM. I considered Epcot, but have come to the conclusion that the kids DS10 and DD7 would enjoy the others more. Maybe I'll need to rethink this.

;)

I think that with you staying at AKL and last time not getting to go there, I would go to AK. It would be almost like a tease to stay that close but not go in. Of course MGM is great too. Maybe ask them what they'd like to do.

Hey guys. Thanks so much for all of the responses. Still not sure what we are going to pick, but you have all given me a lot to think about. Like I said, I am leaning towards AK b/c we didn't go there on our last trip.

Christophfam-Epcot is definately part of our plan for several reasons. First, my guys are in love with Test Track, even DS3! They also like Soarin, Turtle talk and Figment. They love playing in Innoventions and they like to do the masks around the WS. We just find so much to do in Epcot.

I think the hopping from AK to MGM is out of the running, only b/c we will be meeting up with my mom (who lives in Orlando) that night for dinner at Boma. So, I guess I will be asking my boys which park they would rather do. But I have to be sly about it, they don't know we are going  .

Like I said, we are going back next February for 8 days, so whatever we don't do in April, we will get done next year.

Thanks again and keep the ideas coming!

We're talking about boys right? I would totally take boys to AK and girls to DS. My reasoning here is the dinosoars and animals in AK, and the princess shows and things in DS (of course I liked all of it, but if you have to choose I would go girls-DS, boys-AK)

Hmmm, I'd do reverse! DS has Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Twilight Zone, Aerosmith, what boys wouldn't love those!

My vote would be MGM hands down. We were just there and it was our favorite park. We returned 3 times in a 6 day period we liked it so much. Even with EE opening there is really not that much to do at the AK compared to the other 3 parks. We were able to do most eveything there arriving at 3:30 in the afternoon and leaving by 7 (EMH night).

We are doing 3 days at the parks and chose MK, MGM and AK. May I ask why you chose Epcot? I find that park to be on the "educational" side as opposed to the "entertainment" side. That's just our opinion. But if you still wanted to do Epcot, then I would say go with MGM.
