AK or HS? Which would you choose?

I wouldn't recommend HS over AK even for thrill ride fans. In my humble opinion, Expedition Everest is infinitely better than Tower of Terror and Rock 'n Roller Coaster, and if you like it as much as I do, you can ride it multiple times because it has a single rider line! :D

Well I know for sure that my daughter or my husband will not ride Tower of Terror or Rockin Roller Coaster.

I would definitely consider what you family likes best. For us, Animal Kingdom is a lot of walking, it's extremely hot, and I'm the only one that rides EE. Hollywood Studios is the park we would choose, but that's our personal opinion. Every family is different of course! I don't think 8-4 is enough time to get everything in HS done, but I like to do and see everything ;) Wishing you a fun trip!

I am a little worried about a lot of walking. Normally we wouldn't mind but we are at the end tail of a busy trip. I also hear AK is hotter than the other parks. I was thinking of resting during the shows and hoping that would be okay.

The attractions are much more spread out than what you'd be used to at the other parks. During my last trip, we visited AK on the last day. HUGE mistake. Very hot, especially in the Africa section. A park with some wonderful rides and amazing shows, but we were just so tired from the entire trip. Definitely would'vd been better for us at the beginning. Again, whatever you think is best for you, though :)

AK, absolutely. Besides so many attractions being closed down at HS, I just like the park better. The only time I'd pick HS over anything is when they have the Frozen summer stuff going on.

I noticed that some posters here are recommending AK due to "construction" at DHS, however, there is just as much construction going on at AK as there is at DHS so I really do not see that as a valid reason to choose one over the other, in fact, there is an ENTIRE LAND closed for construction at AK (Avatarland) and a big chunk of Asia is also behind walls as well due to the new nighttime additions under construction. I would recommend HS over AK as not only all the attractions are operating but there is also some noteworthy things to see such as the revamped TGMR. Depending of the time of year there are also ongoing seasonal events at HS such as Star Wars Weekend, etc..

I would suggest AK as well. I liked HS earlier in my teens when the original FP was in existence, but I view AK as a much more enjoyable day. You can take it easy and stroll through the jungle treks.

AK them. I normally would say DHS for the thrill rides, but if not then AK. Both are great.

As others have said, it really boils down to what interests you. Because if thrill rides aren't your thing, then that equalizes both parks IMO. If you're concerned about walking/heat at AK, then I'm sure you'll be able to take plenty of breaks and still cover everything within your timeframe.

I would definitely choose AK then. For a 16 year old, HS doesn't have much more to offer than those 2 rides. AK is a beautiful park with great theming. It's my second favorite next to MK.

If you are not going to do the thrill rides, then I think animal kingdom may be the better choice.

You're definitely right, it for sure isn't actually hotter than any of the 4 parks. For us, we just get tricked into thinking it's hotter, because there is a lot more walking from attraction to attraction than the other parks. We just spend more time outside, so the heat wears us away. I'm totally fine with it, but sometimes I worry about my parents since they're getting older. I'm a worrier lol :(

They're both super fun parks, so you will have a blast whereever you go :)

Since OP has not been to either, you cant really say HS doesnt have much to do. It is really only a half day park for those of us who have seen the shows before. HS has a superior number of better rides, but definitely check out the website and see which park has more things your family wants to do.
