Just realized my dd and I are at the Poly in July when an AK Moonlight MADNESS is available. From the DVC website it appears I cannot register until 6/5. Has anyone done this at AK before? Was it productive? How were the lines? How long does this event typically last?

I attended last year's AK Moonlight Magic in the pouring rain. My only complaint is that the wait for Flight Of Passage was almost 2 hours long for the duration of the event. They didn't seem to be operating at full capacity and it made for a long miserable wait. Other than that, it was nice and they even threw in a free carnival game for each person.

We did one of the AK Moonlight Magic last April, perfect weather. Our family isn't into the thrill type rides, although DH and our youngest DD wanted to try FOP. We did an evening safari when we got there(20 min wait?), saw Thumper, got Mickey bars, went on Triceratop spin (no wait). Long waits for food at that point--(last year it wasn't vouchers--they were handing out hot dogs/chips/cookies, etc.) We went to the Rivers of Light Show during Moonlight magic--no problem getting a seat. We had been checking wait times in Pandora all night and they were still high from the daytime. We started walking that way after Rivers of Light, got food at a place with no line. Navii River ended up being 30+ min. wait (I think it broke down for a bit while in line). We got out of it around midnight. Flight of Passage still said 60 min. at that point--DH asked a CM and they said it really was a 60 min wait. There was an hour left of the event, but we'd had it, and DH/DD didn't want to wait 60 min., so we just left at that point.

My daughter (then 5 yo) and I did one in March last year. It was her first time on Expedition Everest and she rode it 5 times in a row with no more than a 10 min wait each time and often no line at all. The rest of the party was great though we did not check in on the Pandora rides at that time. I would totally do it again if we were already going to be there. I would likely not book a trip specifically for this one.

We don't do rides at parties so can't answer about the waits but character lines tend to be quite long. They bring out some rare characters that aren't out in the parks so people (like us) are willing to wait a long time to meet them. We were at the AK event where it rained hard earlier in the evening so they moved many of characters indoors in one space so it made it quite easy to meet a bunch of them.

We found character lines very very long. To long to wait in. Food line for us was not long. My daughter did Expedtion Everest over and over no wait. They had fun in Dino land as well. It was fun but FOP was super long.

We're also doing this is July. I wonder if the waits will be less since it's in July. Does anyone have a comment on that?

Also where did you check in for this? We did one years ago for EPCOT and we checked in at SSR - very long line.

We did it last year in April. It was fun. We rode Navi- waited about 25 min. We skipped Flight of Passage because our two young (too short) kids were with us. The line was posted 50 min. We stuck mostly to things we could all do. They did a showing of Rivers of Light and got in with a decent seat about 7-8 min. before the show started. We also saw the Tree of Life show. My husband took our oldest on EE two or three times with no wait. We meet Carl from Up and the brother bear characters with just a minimal wait. We also met Mickey and Minnie in their usual location with no wait. The other characters had crazy long waits. We got free Mickey bars and hot dogs. We left about 45 min. prior to closing. I think the event is usually 3 hours. My kids were tired and ready to go. I personally would have used that time to go check out the wait for FOP at the end of the night....but kids...

It is definitely worth it if you are going to be there anyway. I wouldn't' plan a trip for it...if you are there...why not.

We went last April. Rode EE about 8 times with zero wait. We rode Navi, dinosaur too. They gave everyone a game voucher for dinoland, and free hot dogs, chips drinks, Mickey ice cream bars. The character lines were long. It was fun. We will be there during this year so we will try to see if we can get it again.

We already have a trip booked. We were planning on doing 3 parks, skipping HS due to construction. But.... we may do HS and then just do the Moonlight Madness at AK. This allows us to hit all 4 parks and still be fine with our 3 day tix. July is to hot to spend all our time in the parks.
