AK Late Hours - Higher Crowds?

I'm stressing over the Animal Kingdom late night offerings announcements! :headache: We currently plan to be in AK on Saturday 5/28, the second day of the late night offerings (and Morning EMH). We have no plans to stay and enjoy the evening offerings in the park, since our little guy is just too young for the late nights. So, do you recommend I change my AK day to Thursday, the last day of "regular" hours, or keep it as is, get in and get out?

I'll hazard a guess here: The late nights may positively affect daytime touring. DAK is widely regarded as the hottest park to tour, and late May is definitely summertime in Central Fla. My inclination would be to go to DAK later to avoid the peak heat of the day, if that idea were to become popular it could actually decrease the size of the morning crowds. Because late nights are not an option for you at this time, I'd be there for RD, and do everything you can as early in the day as possible.

We will be there on May 28th too! and I was worried about the same thing. I decided to keep our plans...just do our FP+s and leave after our FP+ for the Safari at 4:35pm as we have dinner ressies at Trail's End at 6:35pm...while I hate to miss the new evening stuff we are going to stick to our plan for an evening at our resort relaxing and pool time :)

I'm also curious how this will impact touring plans in general. I know many people say they have plenty to do all day long at AK, but others see it as no more than a half-day park. Will those people likely show up around 2:00 then and plan to spend the evening there rather than going from rope-drop to just past lunch? Hard to say.

Well the new nighttime events have already changed our DAK touring plan. We're going in July, and right now I'm planning on doing RD at DHS, and make our FPs for the evening at DAK.
I think I would prefer to face the crowds, rather than tour DAK in the heat of the day. But there is a downside; increased evening crowds may limit FP availability. Everyone will want to FP the nighttime safari, and the new Jungle Book Show.
Can't wait to see how it all works out for eveyone.
