Having difficulty planning out our AK day. Even though this trip is supposed to be less intense and more laid back, it's not working out that way LOL. Anyway, please comment and give me your suggestions to make this better. As a note, I have a DD7 and DS11, plus grandma and grandpa (both are in fine shape) are joining us for a party of six.

Date: Mon Oct 16th - EMH day 8am - 8pm

7:30am - Arrive at AK from Poly
8am - Rope Drop NRJ
-- Walk around Pandora for 30-45 mins
9am ish - Safaris (I assume this will still be walk on at this point)
9:30 ish - Train to Rafiki's Planet Watch, Affection, Conservation, etc
-- (we have never done this event and wanted to before the kids get too old)
11 am - Lion King (this is my bottle neck on whether we can make it to the 11am show or not. If not, we would maybe eat in Africa and do the noon show)
11:45 - Lunch at Flame Tree (walk the D.I. Trails on our way there - which were not open last trip)
12:00 - Kali River Rapids FP+ 12:30-1:30
1:15-2:00 - Maharajah Jungle Trek (this isn't a must do)
2:20 - Dinosaur FP+ 2:20-3:20
2:30 - Boneyard (not a must do but we have never done this and have time to waste)
4:45 - Yak and Yeti dinner ADR
-- (note we have an ADR for 5:30 as well, and could do that after Flights of Wonder)
6:30 - FOP FP+6:30-7:30
-- Explore Pandora as it gets dark
7:15 - Head to Rivers of Light for stand by line.

So, my big questions are (a) whether we can make it back to the Lion King Show in time for the 11am show. If not, our plans will have to adjust. But, we do want to spend a little time at Rafiki's area. (b) dinner at 4:45 or 5:30? 4:45 will give us more time in Pandora and 5:30 will allow us to go to Flights of Wonder (which we have seen before). (c) how early do we need to head to ROL for stand by line? NO EE - kids are wimps. NO Nemo, saw it last time and, meh.

Any thoughts, tips, ideas, concerns? I was really trying hard to not criss cross the park too much. We would like to see the Tree of Life Awakenings, but of course that conflicts with ROL.

Someone replied to an earlier similar question that you need an hour at RPW without the train so with that in mind it does look like you will be pushed for time with no FP for Lion King.
We've FP Lion King but not done RPW before so hopefully someone with more knowledge will reply to you with a fuller answer.

It would be cutting it a bit close to get back for the 11am Lion King show. Am I correct that the first train leaves at 9:30? If it's earlier then definitely take an earlier train.

Yes I've been told it's 9.30.

If the first train does go at 9:30, we could spend an hour and get on the return train by 10:40 and should make it. I'm guessing the earlier shows won't be too busy with Pandora drawing the early rush. Maybe I'm wrong.
