We will be at AK during the time that flametree BBQ is closed:sad1:
We plan to try Yak and Yeti one day but not sure where to go the second day at AK. Are there any other CS worth trying or should we leave the park and eat somewhere that is close by? I wish picnic in the park was still an option, not sure what seasonal means, but I'm not planning on that being an option at the moment. Thanks for any help.

We tried Pizzafari on our last trip and loved it. The A/C was refreshing and everyone enjoyed their meal. Nothing super special, but the individual pizzas and caesar salads were good. We had our heart set on Flame Tree as well but the kids were whiny and we were right next to Pizzafari, so we needed to get food into them stat!popcorn::

We love the Picnic and did it both last June and Dec. It wasn't available in March, they were starting back up March 29 and we checked out March 27. I think they offer it from April through December.

My kids enjoyed Pizzafari last trip. I didn't think the pizza was anything special - but I did love their bread sticks - I had those & a salad, the kids had pizza.

We do like Y&Y CS but I don't think I could eat there twice on the same trip.

We always do Restaurantasaurus while at AK.

It is air conditioned, which is a must. The food is pretty good. Pretty comparable to Pecos/Cosmic Rays at MK.
The burgers and hot dogs are good. They also have a toppings bar (love that).

And usually they have the best desserts of the CS places we attend. Other than sunshine seasons and the strawberry shortcake. ;)

Edit --- I must say that while the food is comparable to Rays and Pecos, the variety isn't there. But the food is as good.

We really liked Pizzafari too. DD6 got a kid's pizza, DD11 got an adult personal pizza, DD16, DH & I all got the hot Italian sandwich which is topped with a Caeser salad & marinated tomatoes. We were all very happy with our choices!

Honestly, if I were planning on spending a whole day at Animal Kingdom, I'd probably hop on a bus to the Animal Kingdom Lodge and have lunch at Sanaa, or if you really prefer counter service, the Mara. I think it would be a good midday break.
