Good morning,
I read in some other threads, that they are now limiting the amount of alcoholic drinks to 2 per person per sitting, like mimosas and sangria at AK concierge.
Has anybody seen this happening in the last few days?
We do like to have some mimosas with breakfast at times and wine in the evening, and we would love to be informed about what to expect next week when we are staying for one night.
TIA

I have been inquiring and posting. From asking someone who is there now they still have self serve beer and wine in the evening. And seems to be no limit there. It's just unclear if special order drinks, like the mimosas, are a limit of 2 or not.

I see, yes, I saw your post. We will check in one week from this coming Monday. I will post about our experience, hopefully a good one !

I stayed club level for one night in June. There were no signs at all about alcohol or signature drink.

At dinner, they put out three bottles of wine. They were all gone instantly, as dinner was packed, and no one replaced them. They didn't even take the empty bottles. Service was incredibly slow, which is one way to limit alcohol.

This is mostly a cash-level club level. I can't see them cutting anyone off, unless it's really an issue. Like you need to leave kind of issue. What they would do is just take forever. The basic non-alcoholic drinks and Mickey bars were also not stocked, day or night. Getting a Mickey bar in the middle of the night is one my girl's favorite Disney memories. I would order 2 or 4 drinks at a time, honestly, because of how long it took. If I were paying cash for this, I would have been very disappointed, particularly in the weird stinginess with alcohol. But for a few points, I was happy. And remember, they can't tell you are DVC or someone who paid $1,000 for this room. Don't feel bad asking for the alcohol you paid for.

I also stayed concierge in June, and my DS did not have any issues ordering a few mimosas with breakfast, lol. Actually ,they would ask us if we wanted more. That's why I'm surprised that they may be limiting the amount, or like you said, taking their time to limit them. Let's see what happens when we get there. Thank you

I don't have any actual data for this, because I never actually saw anyone tipping any of the times I was in the club. But I would imagine a tip early on might change your experience.

Thinking back, this would have been obvious route when there was no self-serve alcohol and a POG mimosa took as long as it did.

I was told club level staff cannot accept tips. Had this changed? My last trip was pre-Covid and I don’t want to not tip if this has changed.

Good question. The concierge is 20 feet away, which is definitely a traditionally tipped position. OP is just going to have to give them a $20 to get their drink on and see how it goes.

Actually, we were told that you can tip them but not cash, and it has to be in an envelope and you give it to the server. We did the last 2 times.Great service, the server remembered us from the last time and the service was great ! We bought a GC.

Wouldn't shock me at all if Disney did make such a change.

Do you think Disney hates or regrets making CL an option with AKVs?

I don't know what to think anymore with all the current changes happening , I just hope that they don't stop offering the concierge option to DVC members. I'll post our experience once we get there.

At this point, I don't think they can because those rooms are declared as part of the AKV association, and are located on the floor with the club level lounge. From my understanding, that is the reason why AKV Jambo is the only resort with CL rooms.....the location of those rooms made it a necessity to give access.

I see, that's great news.
Thank you

I don't know ( or care) what the official policy is- but I do know that if you "slip" one of the servers a few bucks; you will absolutely get your drink in a reasonable amount of time....

Oh, and they DO know who is DVC and who is a cash guest. Particularly if you stand out ( by being an ******, or an angel)---- you don't really think the castmembers don't talk amongst themselves do you?

I've heard comments from management at AKL over the years at that they wish DVC didn't have access- particularly when cash guests are willing to pay huge dollars for a room and club access. Plus, the DVC members tend to be the ones who hang out in the club for hours ( because they've done WDW many times before ( and will after)); whereas the cash guests grab something before heading to the parks for the day and then arrive back late after fireworks hoping for a Mickey Bar ( which there won't be any, because someone came and loaded ALL of them into their backpack soon after the CMs put the last ones out (seen this!))

Honestly, the only reason it works at all is because there are so few DVC club level rooms that the impact is diminished.

BTW- I've also witnessed someone take the entire plate of chocolate-covered-strawberries, the entire plate of cookies; 2 bottles of opened wine; and the entire bottle of kahula (not the same person- this has been over 20 years). Usually the cast member cannot get more - the supply chain is different than you and I running to the store

Going to bring a bunch of $20 GC to hand out next time. We are DVC but our last visit we were joined by friends who booked a cash room. And we all were treated the same with being limited mimosas....all 7 of us...Cash and DVC.

I may take a bottle if beer or a can of soda back to the room but it never occurred to me to grab a whole bottle of wine or an entire plate of dessert. Ew, that is some balls there. I always ask for a water bottle for each of us to take to the room too...for middle of the night hydrating.

Yeah, keep us posted. And have a nice stay.
Hello to all,
I just realized that I never sent the update after this past October stay at AK concierge. I apologize for that.

Our stayed was great, it was 4 of us, DH, DS 25, and DD 20. Francisco was there ,and he was as attentive and helpful as always, making his special sangria and cold coffee drinks after the machine was fixed. There was also another new girl that I had never seen before and she went out of her way to assist us.
We did not have any issues getting as many mimosas, wine and beer as we wanted.
The only thing that we did not like, was the lack of more meat dishes for the dinner offerings.
Hopefully is gotten better.
We were able to book some concierge night this coming July, let's see how things are at that time.

We are staying CL in a few months - using our AKV points for the first time. Can anyone elaborate on the itinerary planning services?
