We are headed down to Disney in August and wanted to go to AK first day. Does anyone know about having breakfast in the park? Charactar Breakfasts? And how is AK would it be an all day trip or just half day?

Thanks:

Donalds is in the AK--fabulous and fun CB!

Many people will tell you that the AK is a half day park. I so disagree. If you take the time to enjoy AK as it was meant to be enjoyed, as a beautifully themed journey to distant lands full of exotic animals, it will take you at least a full day. If you go to ride the thrill rides and see a couple shows, then half a day is fine. But do taht and you'll miss the best parts of the AK.

Of all WDW parks, this one is filled with the most hidden treasures. Many are constrntly changing as the treasures are the antics of the animals, but others are true gems in teh architecure and horticulture.

There's also a cart in Dinoland that sells breakfast breads if you want something quick.

Animal Kingdom is my favorite park! Please give it all the time it deserves. See you in Harambe!

Hi Dreamcatcher,

Plan on a full day at the park it's usually only open from 9am-5pm anyway. If you do it in less than you'll have more time later on in the day to enjoy your resort or check something else out. Their's tons of stuff to do at Disney! I do it in a couple of hours but I have been several times a year since that park opened 5 years ago and I only do certain rides anyway.

For dining for BRKFAST:
Their's Donald's Breakfastsoaurs (book it 60 days out) by calling 1-407-WDW-DINE. It's a great character buffet breakfast.

Also RainForrest Cafe, which is a really cool themed restaurant. It has a menu to order off of for brkfast, lunch, and dinner.

Plus, their use to be a cart that sold pastries and drinks last time I was in the park that my still be avail. too for a quickie meal.

Hope this helps...

We ate at Donald's last week, enjoyed all the food but did find it a hectic and somewhat "rushed" experience. My kids loved the server though, he had a funny ketchup bottle. ;)

After breakfast we went on the Safari, out to Rafiki
s Planet Watch, saw two Pocahontas shows (one training, one regular), got some lunch ... I was disappointed when dh called to pick us up at 2:30. He had spent the day at IoA and was done, we could have stayed all day at AK.

Loved Donald's breakfast last week and I will agree with the 1/2 day assessment of AK. It really depends on what you want to do there.

Dreamcatcher,

I would definetly allow a full day for Animal Kingdom. By the time you do the rides, safari, see the parades and watch the shows, you have got to see the Lion King, fab! LOL!!

Donald's Restonasaurus is fab for breakfast and Rainforrest Cafe and Flame Tree BBQ are great for lunch.
