In our upcoming vacation my grandparents in their late 80's are going to be joining us for AK day. We will be getting a wheelchair for grandma and grandpa to alternate since they do like to walk, but they won't be able to walk the whole distance. Will we have to go to a separate entrance or is there a place we can leave the wheelchair and go through the regular entrance?

All the lines at AK were built with Mainstream access - that means you can keep the wheelchair in the regular line and use it all the way to boarding or into theaters.
All Fastpass lines are also accessible, so if you are using Fastpass for an attraction, it's the same.

If they want to leave it and walk in line, you would park it with the strollers and then enter thru the regular entrance.

One thing I found about AK was that there were places my view was not the best being in a chair. I've always been able to get up and about though (even the trip with the torn cartilage!) so that was helpful.
It will be nice for them on the long trails to be able to enjoy the trails and not get worn out.
IMO Everywhere is deceptively wide except perhaps some of the turns going in to ITTBAB.

Just a warning that I have seen many people about tip over at AK when being pushed in wheelchairs due to the uneven ground. So, the person pushing needs to be able to see the ground in front of where they are going really well. I have not had to push anyone at AK yet, but I had to help others out a couple of times when their wheels got stuck.
