Today we were up and about early and had cereal before heading off to DHS. Once at DHS we got our AP’s and also bought the DDE card. We were into DHS just at rope drop and then headed off to get our FP’s for R n R and then went on ToT
After ToT we were close to our RnR time so I got a FP for ToT and then we went on RnR. We then had a wander around and got a lovely 5 character sketch at the nearby store. It was then time to hit ToT again and I managed a FP for RnR. By now were thirsty so grabbed a drink and packet of crisps outside ToT. It was then that we decided Indiana Jones was a must and went up to get in line but I had misread the map and we had a bit longer to wait which meant we could easily fit in our second RnR FP
We got to IJ about 30 minutes before the show and it got rather busy.
The show as ever was great to watch. After this we felt the need for a good old burger and went to the usual stop the Backlot Express.
By now it was just about 1pm so we left and went back to AKL for a swim. Although I did stop for a few minutes to watch the animals from the balcony, as the little giraffe was so cute.
The pool area was quite busy but we found a spot and the sun came out nicely.
We must have laid by the pool for a couple of hours when we decided to was time to go back and get showered as we were due at Epcot for our Coral Reef reservation at 7.20pm. We arrived at Epcot at about 6.15pm and saw the lovely topiary display as we entered.
As there was time to kill we went on Spaceship Earth and enjoyed the ‘re-entry’! After this it was time to head off to the Coral Reef so we took the ‘clamobiles’ into the Living Sea’s. We were both sure we had seen a sign for CR in the LS but we couldn’t find it so we exited and went round the building for check in. We were handed a pager and within 10 minutes were seated right next to the tank
The view of the tank was great.
Our server was very friendly and informative and then it was time to eat, first there was the bread.
Then I had the Sea and Land - Grilled shrimp with cucumber salad and BBQ beef skewer with creamy polenta.
While Nathan tried the New England Cod Cake - served with remoulade and topped with micro greens.
Whilst eating we had a great view of all the fish and sharks!
For entrée I had Alaskan King Crab Legs - served with corn and asparagus relish.
Nathan opted for a meat entrée which was Grilled Pork Chop - served with caramelized shallots and sweet onion mashed potatoes topped with wild mushroom sauce.
Time was now moving fast and so I ordered Key Lime Pie.
And Nathan had the sorbet.
Whilst ordering the desserts we informed our server we would like to see IllumiNations and the check was with us and we were out by 8.40pm with just enough time to wander to World Showcase to watch the show. This was a very pleasant end to a great first day and the Coral Reef will be on our list to visit again sometime in the future.
