AK and HS?

If you're going to have a split park day, AK then HS does make the most sense...do your FP+'s at HS.

But, I'm also seeing you're there a week. AK is pretty walking intensive and you're saying you won't be the fastest group around, so I'm thinking you might be rushing when you have plenty of time. You might want to spend more time there than you have planned. Also, definitely try to get to 'Festival of the Lion King'...'Flights of Wonder' is also one of those underrated shows that you should try to catch if you can.

I originally hadn't planned on splitting the day. I wanted to be there on an 8am EMH opening day. But as I read more about when and what parks to go to I starting thinking I shouldn't stay past 12/1:00 on an EMH day.

I do have plenty of time/days to hit all the parks. I specifically booked a full week so we didnt feel rushed and could take short days or breaks throughout the week. Also so I could pick and choose what days to hit what parks.

I could also just plan for 1/2 to 3/4 day at AK and call it a day. I really want to try BOMA maybe I could get a res. for the day we do AK for like 5/6:00 and do HS another day?

Now i'm just confusing myself LOL

I think you are confusing yourself for sure! Especially with young kids, I would just plan to make it a fun day at AK, and not worry about getting to DHS to make FP+ times.

AK will NOT be more crowded after 12-1 because of EMH. If the crowd is a bit higher that day, it will be early. It doesn't make sense that more people would come in the afternoon for a morning EMH.

As for the shows, I honestly think FoLK is the best live show at WDW, and Finding Nemo is #2. And as another poster said, Flights of Wonder is an underrated gem, as well. The best thing about all of these shows is that they appeal to all ages.

So if you get there at RD, do the safari first, as you said. You have the advantage of a shorter line and hopefully some active animals since it's cool first thing.

Even though you said you have zoos, I still recommend the Conservation Station, especially if you decide to stay longer at the park. There are some cool things to do out there, and kids find the train fun. The trails are also great, both for the theming and animals.

So if you do change your plan to have the day at AK, I'd recommend making FP+ for the safari, Lion King, and either Nemo or EE. If all the adults want to do EE, you could take turns or do child swap, and the single rider line at EE is very efficient, as another option.

FP+ are not NEEDED for the shows, but depending on the crowd that day, if you don't need the FP+ for anything else, it's nice to not worry about getting to the show early to make sure you get in.

AK is one of my favorite parks, because of the great theming and shows. Be sure to find DeVine!
