When AK has evening EMH how long past 5:00 do they stay open? Is Kilamanjaro Safari one of the after hours rides?

When AK has evening EMH how long past 5:00 do they stay open? Is Kilamanjaro Safari one of the after hours rides?

All evening EMH's are 3 hours long. ("up to" is "Lawyer-speak".)

Safari can run for all of that time, or it might close before the other EMH attractions... depends on ridership and (I'm sure) the animals' "bed-time".

Do you think it is worth going to AK for the EMH? Are the animals more active? We're trying to decide what time to make ADR's and can't decide whether to have a late lunch then go to AK or go to AK in the morning and leave when it gets too crowded/hot.

We did AK EMH in the evening last June and loved it...The park was practically empty and it was wonderful. However, that is certainly a thing of the past with EE. I didn't notice that the animals were more active, but it makes sense to me that they would be as the evening cools down (a bit). The safari was really great, because the park was so empty, the drivers took their time and stopped for long periods of time for people to take pictures. I would definately give it a try!!!

Just a heads up that the safari is open during evening EMH "seasonally." It does it's last ride before dark, so right now if AK has EMH, since dark comes before the end of EMH, the safari would close early. When we were there before the clocks changed, safari was not open at all during EMH.

I've done evening EMH at AK twice. KS always stops shortly before sunset. When I did EMH last August, the CMs said that KS wasn't open. However, I walked over anyways and was so thrilled to find it open until 7:00. AK was open until 8:00, but sunset was closer to 7:30. As an example of how few people were there, I stopped in a rest room in Asia, and no one else came in the whole time I was there. You know, that was a creepy feeling-going into an empty restroom in AK! It's a great time to see the characters at AK. I went to see Eeyore across from FTBBQ, and I didn't have to wait in any line.
Oh, about animals on KS at that time of day, I really didn't notice any more than usual. What I did notice was one less. Does anyone remember the big male lion who lies on the rock up on the hill? I've been on KS about 10 times, and this was the only time he WASN'T there.

When i went with my parent, we didnt go ak for e night,we went to epcot to do it. I might do e night rides at ak this summer 6/06. THEN ME AND MY DAD WILL RIDE E.E.(expadetion everest) ALL NIGHT LONG. I havent rode e.e. yet becuase i didnt know they were gonna make it. i heard they were gonna make e.e. last summer june or july 2005 at ak, wen i past by to eat at bbq resturant, i was like huh? then i decided to do it for e night ride. AK EMH is fun. The AK is neat to see lit up at night. Riding Everst in the dark is also a different kind of experience.
