Airtran has changed my flights a couple of times already - fully expected and not a problem. Going we are actually getting there earlier now so that is great. Going home we are flxible on times, but they gave us an only 32 minute layover in Atlanta now. Very concerned with two little ones! My question is should I call now to adjust or wait for a little while to see if it changes again? We are not traveling until Nov. 21 - 28. Any thoughts are appreciated! Thanks!

I am in a similar situation and would love to know everyone's opinion.

Thanks,
Jessica

Doing it now and repeating if needed is better than waiting until later in the hopes of only having to do it once.

Hand pick alternate flights you would like and telephone to request changes. But do not agree to pay any more money.

I would not advise a 32 minute layover.
Heres why. First you have to hope your plane is on time. Then you must wait for everyone on the plane ahead of you to get off. This in and of itself could cause you to miss your connection.
Oh you said you had little ones don't expect to be able to make a bathroom stop with a 32 minute layover.
Even though it says its a 32 minute layover that means that your next flight takes off in 32 minutes so you truely don't have 32 minutes. The jet door is usually closed 10 minutes prior to the flights scheduled take off time.

I would call now and secure a reservation on another flight.

last week I traveling alone had a 45 minutes change in Atlanta, we were 30 minutes pulling out of pad at Ft myers due to plane computer problems, once he got it rebooted and we took off, he put the foot to the metal and we landed with 15 mninutes to make flight thank goodness the plane was in the same terminal not have to change to D from C plus the airline knew of the problem and held the next leg 15 so me could get there. But with little ones there is no time unless you are business class and get off first.

if they have changed your flight time I would call ASAP and change to a non-stop flight if available, they don't charge anything as long as they changed the time, just explain it does not work for your schedule, I changed mine today as they move the flight 3 hours later and I already had my reservations at Disney for dinner :yay:, (with it being ThanksGiving Weekend I didn't want to even try moving those) There was no charge and they were very accomodating. I was told that you can change your flight 1 time for free each time they change the flight you are on, so even if they change it again you can still change to something that works for you, good luck

We had a 54 minute layover and it was just enough time for us to get off the plane, find our next gate, dash to the restrooms, and reboard the plane. Our hearts were racing at the end. The restrooms maybe took 6 minutes tops. I don't see how I could have done it with my family in less than 45-50 minutes.

What if I accidentally walked to the wrong gate? We would have missed our flight. Speaking of which, for both our connecting flights (going and returning) the gates had changed from what was printed on our tickets. You must ask the gate attendant when you get off the flight where your next gate is, don't just rely on what your ticket says.

Thanks for the input. By yesterday afternoon it had changed again - this time to a little over 3 hour layover. Nonstop is not an option from New Orleans with Airtran - all of the flights stop in Atlanta. I looked at the other flights that day now and we would have a long layover with all of the flights listed now unless we take the 10 am flight and I really do not want to have to be ready for DME at 7 am!! I think we are going to stick with the new time now. I will just continue to watch and if something else happens to come up, I will call them then.

Does anyone know if Southwest or another Airline drops their flight prices home that day, can I cancel just my return segment with Airtran? I think that they will let you cancel if the schedule change does not work, but would it be the roundtrip or just one leg of the trip?

Thanks!
