airtran seats ?

Friends of mine just booked airtran from IND to MCO for May 29-June 2 ...
My question is will they have any say in sitting together (mom, dad and three small children under 7.) They bought through travelocity for a good rate on non-stop flights.

You can get online 24 hours before to select seats. Anytime I have flown Air Tran, there were plenty of seats available at the 24 hour mark. You can only get assigned seats at purchase if you buy the high priced seats.

We just flew with extended family from IND to MCO two weeks ago on AirTran. My husband had no problem going online 24 hours before and getting all of the seats selected (4 adults, 3 kids - he made sure there was an adult by each child and that we were close together). Then for the return trip he just asked the resort front desk to allow him to do it there and that was fine. FYI, We got a credit when the rates dropped two days after we booked. Others posted that they called and were told nothing could be done but I had sent a very polite e-mail note with our reservation number explaining that we had just made reservations and the price dropped and asked what we needed to do to re-book at the different rate. They replied immediately, had already rebooked all of us (same flights) and already credited us with $210 to use for a future flight.

You can also get assigned seating earlier if you book through a travel agent.

We were on a full flight in June. I went on 24 hours ahead of time and pretty much the entire plane was available to choose from. I don't think they will have a problem. We didn't even bother checking in online from the resort and were at the Airport 2 hours early for our flight back (full also) and we ended up all together. I wouldn't worry about it.
