AirTran Seat Selection vs. No Selection

Thanks for the responses... I figured I'd save them a few bucks at this point but was concerned about now having paid for a seat selection that they would be first to be knocked off if oversold...

They don't care about siting next to one another... In fact, they perfer being separated!

We paid the $6 each to pick our seats. Our flight got changed and the seats I picked were no longer available. I went from row 10 to row 27. And today airtran changed our nonstop flight for the third time. I was told for Nov and Dec they are stopping all nonstop flights. I don't know if this is Boston only I will never book with them again.

I'm straying OT of the original thread but what is up with the no Non-Stops?

We fly out of Philly. Only about a 2 hour flight. I've never heard of anyone who went to Orlando from Philly who wasn't on a full flight. So where is the airline saving?

I know I paid rock bottom this trip...But wouldn't most of rather pay more for non-stop?

I can't figure out why they are cancelling all the non stop flights either. We were flying from Boston that was like a 3 hr flight and they put me on a flight that would take almost 9 hrs.

One of the things I recently read was they need less gas for these shorter flights so the plane doesn't weight as much?
