Airtran Sale!!!!

I'm glad we'll get a paper voucher - like having something in hand, I'm sure we can utilize it within a year.

I assume I should still call the day before to pick seats, even if we're planning to try & use upgrade?

When you refer to "getting there early" - how early are we talking? We're spoiled, when flying out of PIT; right after 9/11 we'd arrive 2 hrs early; but we've been shortening it to 1 hr (less if we're not checking luggage). What would you advise?

Lastly, have you had more success obtaining seats into or out of MCO? Thanks.

We arrive 1.5 hours before our flights. At MCO we usually upgrade out front at the ticket counter...BEFORE security. This save some delay. They always offer the seats at the gate, by loud speaker, if they have them, but we don't like to risk. Security can be fast or crawling.

It does mean that we waste an hour of our vacation by arriving so early, but we have missed two flights in the last five years so we have become diligent. For us it a nice to finish the books we never got to on the trip anyways. :earseek:

You won't get a paper voucher, just an email. However the information will also be on the website under your logins until you use the upgrade.

We get our regular seats at the 24 hour mark and print our boarding passes at home/hotel. Since we always upgrade, this is a wasted effort. However, if the business seats are sold out, we then ready to go. (I am really am obsessively organized-it clearly is an illness!) ;)

We just bought tickets for Easter break on AirTran--about $60 less than eveyone else! Yeah! We were able to select our seats for the flights down to Orlando but not for the way back. We figure we can check-in online at 24 hour window to select our seats. We really only need two seats together so one of us can sit with our 6 year old but would be thrilled to get three. Anyone know if the front desk at WDW will let you get online and check-in so you can select seats? We will be bringing our laptop but won't have a printer if we need to print boarding passes. Anyone else been in this situation? Thanks!

Thanks tggrbuny, never hurts to be prepared.

In Feb the AS Mo refused to allow us access to print boarding passes - said they were too busy. I asked @ guest services @ Epcot, no luck either.

I've since found out that the business hotels do have internet access/printers in the lobbies. Some posters have reported success in the Value Resorts helping...guess it just wasn't my day.

We apparrently got the last 3 adjoining seats when we checked for our return flight home @ MCO (1-1/2 hours before takeoff). We were stuck in the bumpy & noisy last row w/o a window - yeech. At least we got to sit together. Even though we'll be on a cruise this year, I'll spring for the onboard internet fees to obtain boarding passes.

We are flying Airtran in 12 days. We are going to check in online 24 hours before we leave to pick our seats etc... But how can we pick our seats for the returning flight? We won't have a computer with us, will the seats be the same, or can you call and do it over the phone? We are 1st time flyers and the kids want window seats, and we also don't want to get seperated from them on the flight. Thanks for any information you guys have!!

In Feb we could not check-in or pick seats over the phone...you must have internet access w/printer for boarding passes. If you're staying @ the AS hope you have better luck than we did...perhaps you could call whatever hotel you're staying @ & inquire about internet access. Good luck, enjoy the magic.
