Hi,
I am looking for reviews on Airtran airlines. If anyone has any experience with them, please let me know!
Thanks!
Amy

We flew from Indy to MCO on May 31 and returned on June 7. Both flights were non-stop and we had no troubles with Airtran at all. It was our first time flying Airtran and I would not hesitate to do it again. All personnel we dealt with were very friendly (and the check-in staff member at MCO working with the lady in front of us in line had the patience of Job!). The flights were without any problems or delays and our luggage arrived each way without incident. Actually one of the better flight experiences I have had.:goodvibes

we loved them last year- good prices- get there early, both times, they left about 10 minutes ahead of schedule- they were great!

I've flown Air Tran several times and always had good service. On time, no hassles. The only problem with them is that they change flight times often.

We flew Airtran for the first time in January and were very pleased with the service. Flights were either early or on time.

We are flying Airtran again in August.

I'm not the OP, but curious just the same. We are looking at them for our sept trip. Has anyone used them out of HPN? They are currentally cheeper than southwest, and fly from a closer airport.

Thanks
Deanna :bored: :cat:

We have never flown AirTran, we always do SW. This year I booked AirTran in the beginning of May for our Sept trip. Since then they have totally cancelled our flight coming back, and the times that they had coming back then did not work for us. I ended up cancelling the whole thing, and going back to SW. I don't think I'll ever be comfortable enough with AirTran to give them another try. I like to know that when I book a flight it will be there. Just me, though.

We just completed our first trip to WDW via Airtran. We'd use them again with no hesitations. We got rates that were $10 cheaper than SW's and were able to book them sooner. The flights were on-time, the planes were nice. We really liked the free XM in-flight radio service. The only downside is that they do tend to tinker with the schedule a few months out. We booked back in January and around March they did move one of our flights. If they make a major change to the times, they will move you to another flight for free.

We flew Air tran for the first time from ROC in May and had a good experience. going there we arrived early luggage with us. Coming home they switched us to a direct flight when we arrived at the airport to check in (could have kissed the woman that offered it b/c I was travelling home on my own with the kids!!) they were also the best price for us as we only booked about 5 weeks before going!

We ALWAYS fly AirTran out of Philly. We usually get in early and have even left a little early. Great service, and fabulous price. Last several trips, we paid $49 each way. Can't beat that!

I've flown them a few times, and we have had a couple of delays. We arrived in MCO about 3 hours late one night. I was glad it was the non-stop so we didn't have to deal with a missed connection. I am slightly nervous about our upcoming trip with connections, but hey, they are the cheapest. If I go with the legacy carrier they have more flights to MCO, but they are more expensive...
Air tran is fine. Nobody was exceptionally nice or mean, and it got us there.
Just like any airline I guess.
Go cheapest!:cheer2:

Also, as an afterthought I'll added that we used DME with Airtran and had zero problems. The luggage arrived just fine and going home the RAC luggage check-in at the resort was a snap.

We've been pretty much flying it exclusively for the past two years because it has been the cheapest, offered the best flight times, and we've never had an issue. We always leave right on time and often get in early. DH and I really like the free XM satillite radio. They've always been very friendly and helpful.

We fly Airtran for their low rates and direct flights to MCO.

The only BIG downfall with Airtran is they always way overbook. Have a friend who ended up giving up her seats out of Orlando last spring 3 times to get the free flights. She could have given up again but had to get her daughter home for school.

I flew out on their last flight of the day (on a Wednesday) to Jacksonville in April. They needed three seats but couldn't get anybody to Florida from Rochester, NY until Monday! Five days later! This had absolutley nothing to do with weather or mechanical problems, they just totally overbooked during a school break.

If you book with them, be sure to get your seats assigned ASAP!

We have flown them several times with no problems. We are flying with them again in 19 days. :)

We flew airtran during February vacation week earlier this year. I was a little nervous since it was our first time using any airline other than delta or jetblue, but it was fantastic. No complaints whatsoever. I was especially worried because we ended up in the last row and supposedly those seats are a little squishier (due to the curvature of the fuselage) but they were fine. I would definately fly them again.

We might have to give them a try next time. The only thing I didn't care for was that you couldn't pick your seats when you purchase tickets. I have been reading where you can pay $5.00 and go ahead and reserve certain seats. Can you do this immediatly after you buy the tickets or is only a certain time period before the actual flight?

We flew Airtran the last 2 trips. Bare bones, but at least you can get an assigned seat and avoid the "mob" boarding. The XM radio is nice. And they do overbook--both flights had them trying to get folks to give up seats in favor of free tickets, etc. No problems either trip with changed flight times.
