Airtran--have credit--HELP!!!

Last summer when the price came down on our flights to DW, I called Airtran and was given a credit. We used some of our credit for our luggage, but still have a little left--like $12 or $18 I think. We have just booked another flight for this coming fall and would like to use the credit for seats. However, I don't remember if I had a number or a card or what to show the credit. I looked on my A+ rewards and it doesn't show cash credit. I am thinking I may have to call Airtran directly to see if they can apply the credit, but I am sure they will need some kind of number. Has anyone gone through/going through this and know what I need to do???

The credit is good for one year from when you bought your original tickets. It's possible that the remaining credit expired, if the original tickets were purchased for the summer of 2010.

Agreed. The credit expires one year from when you purchased the tickets not one year from the day you actually received the credit.

The credit usually shows in your A+ account and you can apply the credit directly. You shouldn't have to call if you still have the funds available.

I have written down that the credit doesn't expire until May 13, 2011, so I have about a month left. I have checked my A+ rewards and don't see a credit on it though. I also found where I have $12 left, so that would pay for 2 of our seats....trying to save every cent I can.

Is May 13, 2010 when you bought your previous AirTran tickets, or when you got the credit? If the former, then I would call AirTran and ask them to put the credit in your A+ rewards account so you can use it to purchase seats.

May 13, 2010 was when I bought the original tickets, but I was told I had to use the credit 1 year from that date before it expired. I believe I will just go ahead and call and see what they suggest. I know it is only $12, but I hate to lose it too.

Check Air Tran's policy. Some airlines require you to use the credits funds for a purchase up to one year from the original purchase date, others require you to actually FLY by the time the year is up.

AirTran's policy is to use the credits within one year of the original ticket purchase.

My 2 flights have dropped in price 3 times this past month. I did pay for seats. Each time I've called they've credited both the price drop AND the seat fees and I've had to go back and select them again. When I choose the seats and get to the payment page, it shows my A+ credits as an option for payment.

i have found when I have a credit it just appears as part of an option when I am paying online for whatevr and then I click if I want to use the credit.

I don't believe you can find it elsewhere in your account.

I should have some time later today to try this. I never thought about completing the process and seeing if it came up. Hopefully, that works.

Someone else posted this too, and I am going to try today if I get the chance. I am very hopeful that it will work and will let everyone know what happens.
