So the price dropped, and they credited me the difference... But my question is. Do they do a credit to my account so I can use it towards say our baggage, or do they refund my credit card? They didn't tell me what they did, and my online acct just says a confirmation # and a credit, minus from what I paid?

It's a credit with them, and yes you can use it to pay for luggage if on-line I believe. It's not back to a card, and it's only good with them for a year.

The customer service agent I spoke with said that we would not be able to use credit to check out bags at the resort, though.

Major bummer for me. I'm still fighting with myself over dragging the bags to MCO to save $40..

Ok perfect thanks. If I can do online with them then, thats how I"ll use it.. Is it difficult to use online.. I've never had a credit before lol.

Yeah, I was told the same thing a year ago. I checked in curbside at MCO and they applied the credit to paying for the bag fee. It didn't appear on my account online, but they were able to see it and use it.

Question:

My credit will have to be used by Feb 2013, can I book a flight with it, and then change to a different flight when they extend their schedule? I doubt it, but thought I would ask.

If you change your flights, you will pay a $75/ticket change fee. The credit just has to be used by Feb. 2013. You don't have to complete your travel by then, as some airlines require.

Thank you...this makes me feel better.::yes:: A credit minus $75 is better than losing a credit!

:confused:i've always used mine for luggage or seat assignments but i assumed they were the same as SWA, credit expires 1 year from date of original booking.

The credit does expire one year from original booking, and the PP's booking must have been in Feb. 2012. AirTran still operates by AirTran policies and not Southwest's - so she could book a future flight beyond Feb. 2013 - as long as it is done before the credit expires. However, verify that info with AirTran.

I have this issue, too...

So, if I have $120 in credit with Air Tran, I was hoping to use 20 each way, for three bags going and coming. I can't use the resort's check in bag system on the return flight, by paying online or ahead of time and showing that I've prepaid for my bags? Is my only option really dragging them on the Magical Express bus and checking at the counter?

That is my understanding.

If you find something different, please share

I think you can call before your flight and have the credit applied for checked bag fees then have ME handle them.
I have had credits applied before for checked bags and checked in before I have gone to the airport, so I don't know why it would be any different.
I have drug my bags to MCO and used curbside checkin with an already applied credit and check in via phone. i don't know why ME would make a big difference.
