AirTran Checked Baggage ??

We have gotten conflicting info and wanted to check here to see if anyone knows. Is is a $15 for every 1st bag checked and $25 for each each additional bag or it is $15 for the 1st checked bag and $25 for each additional bag. We have 4 people traveling and our trying to figure how much we should allow for the checked bags as we will probably have at least 2 since we are trying to keep it to a minimum and use carry-ons for a bunch of our stuff. Thanks for any assistance.

Hello there!

It is $15 for every first checked bag. So, if it is 4 people in your party and everyone checked a bag it would be $60 total.

If you're talking about checking only 2 bags total, the cost will be $15 per bag, each way. So your total for a round-trip flight would be $60. Each passenger is allowed one bag for $15, so be sure to assign each checked bag to a different passenger. Don't put 2 bags in one persons name.

Thanks for the info. We are only planning checking 2 bags 1 for me and one for DH with the kids stuff in both of them. I was figuring it would be $15 for each of us but when I talked to a friend she said no it was $15 for the 1st bag and the 2nd bag would be $25, not that it is a huge difference I just wanted to be sure. Thanks!

Your friend was mistaken. Baggage fees tier up per passenger.
