Airtran Carry on question

I have noticed some people said that the snacks they get at wdw they carry on. Are you allowed?? I will be flying on airtran and was wondering how to get my candy home from mnsshp?? Do we have to pack it on the check in luggage or can I put it in my carry on? I just don't want to put it in my carry on and then be told that I have to throw it away! I have no problem checking it in, but just curious!!

I'm curious too since I'm considering bring a small duffle bag of food on our trip. Not worth it if I have to check it and pay $15. I thought the only carry on restrictions were liquid??

You can carry food on the flight. Just a note though: last time flying out of MCO I had a large caramel from Goofy's in my bag and they had to search it. They couldn't identify what it was in the x-ray machine. The TSA agent was great about it, pulled it out asked what it was, made a joke and let me be on my way.

Thanks! I was hoping I could. I can't remember but I think I carried some candy on from my may trip at universal. I plan on packing some of it in checked baggage but wanted to take some on the plane

I always take snacks in my backpack. I get a drink on the plane, since they are still free.
