Airtran Bag fees and when I pay for

I just booked Friend on Airtran flight and didn't see anywhere to pay her bag fees. When does she pay for these and is there a discount for doing it sooner ( ie: before standing at airport). She is flying from Grand Rapids, MI into MCO and will be traveling via car to/from WDW.

As I recall from past AT flights, when I checked in online the day before the flight I was asked the number of bags per passenger and did it then. Also, if memory serves, they hit my credit card at that time.

You pay for the luggage that you will be checking when you check-in online anytime during the 24 hour period prior to your flight.

You can't pay for the ahead of time. When you do online check-in it will ask you how many bags you are checking (1, 2, etc.) and you pay for them via credit card at that time.

You can also pay for it when checking in at the airport. Be sure to have cash or credit card available as it won't automatically go on the card used for booking the flights. You have to swipe again if paying by credit card.
