I've never flown airtran and am a little concerned.

1. What are the chances of me and my mom being able to sit together (have never flown without preassigned seats).

2. With Airtran not being a partcipating airline, will DME deliver our luggage to our room and how about the return flight home?

Thanks

At the 24 hour mark you can check in. If they haven't already assigned your seats you can pick them at this time.

Everyone can use DME on their arrival into Orlando. If you use the DME tags and go to the desk and the voucher is scanned when you board the bus your luggage will show up in your room.

Whether or not your airline is a "participating airline" ONLY matters for your return home, your flight from MCO back to your home airport.

BUT WHEN YOU FLY INTO MCO, EVERYONE ON EVERY AIRLINE CAN HAVE DME DELIVER THEIR LUGGAGE TO THEIR WDW RESORT ROOM. EVERYONE.

WDW-bound DME luggage is pulled out of the luggage stream at some point AFTER the airlines relinquish their custody of the luggage to the airport itself. At that point, employees of a Disney subcontractor pull the DME-tagged bags so that they never reach baggage claim. They get scanned, sorted, put into trucks, and delivered to the resorts.

So that's why it doesn't matter what airline you use for your arrival at Orlando. But on your way back home, the airlines have to be willing to pay for their customers' perk of checking in their luggage off-site and having it delivered to the airport. Some airlines are willing to pay/participate, but some are not.

The only thing I have to add is that you can use ME on the way back to the airport, BUT, you have to have your luggage put on the bus with you and go through normal check in procedures at the airport.

"Participating Airlines" simply means those folks get to check in and check their luggage at their resort and not have to see it again until their home airport. You can still get your boarding passes printed at lobby concierge, but can't check your baggage...

I thought you couldn't check in from your resort if your airline didn't participate in the luggage checkin. Can anyone clarify? Thanks!

Anyone can have their boarding passes printed at Lobby Concierge...... you just can't use the check in services that involve checking your luggage...
