Has anyone flown airtran?
Is there online check in?
How bad is checkin if you don't have an assigned seat?

I am going to Baltimore in March and I can checkin online for the Orlando part, but I may not be able to checkin online for the Baltimore part.

We have flown AirTran many times. You can check in on line 24 hours before your flight and print you passes. If you print your passes, that's all you need, you use the printed one from home to check in and to board the plane, it was very convienent.

Also, as far as seat assignment, when I logged in 24 hour prior to flight, they already had assigned all three of us seats, if you want different ones you can change them at that time.

We love airtran, they have all brand new planes. The only negative is that sometimes they change your flight times.

we had them change flights times more than 8 times (lost count lol) and up to 8 hours difference.

good news, you can cancel & get a refund if they do; otherwise; we grin & bear it because their rewards program is so easy to gain flight segments.

only once did we have a problem with not checking in online 24 hours prior (out of MCO to PIT), we got the last 3 seats upon checkin 3 hrs early & sat in the back of plane. they do tend to overbook on the popular flights & ask for stand-bys.

The last time we flew airtran, they didn't change our times once, but the time before they changed them several times. The new times worked out to our benefit though, so didn't mind.
